17 weeks and no appetite

Title says it all - I'm usually a right greedy bugger so it is no surprise I got to my pre-pregnancy weight of over 22 stone through being greedy and lazy.

But since getting pregnant my appetite is through the floor. I have to remind myself to eat. I have lost over a stone. The thought of chocolate and cake in my mouth makes me gag. I've been sat here for half an hour staring at the same sandwich and have eaten precisely 30% of it.

I know the baby will take nutrients before my body does and that I have a lot of stored calories to rely on, so I am not overly worried. But has anyone else been like this or am I just a weirdo with reverse cravings?

How weird - I'm EXACTLY like this and keep telling people its the best diet I've ever been on.

I started out at 20st and am now at 19st3 but the midwife isn't worried so I am just going to enjoy it and hope the reverse doesn't happen soon.

I keep telling myself it is the bodies way of getting fitter for birth but seriously, the last time I lost this much weight I was hitting the gym 4+ times a week and following a strict diet (whilst craving EVERYTHING).

I belong to a society where we have tea breaks halfway through the meeting and the members provide sumptuous cakes and biscuits. I just sit there with my Vimto (I am totally off tea and coffee too!) and feel sad!

I had no appetite up until about 19 weeks and then it suddenly reappeared. I really struggled to eat, particularly in the evenings. Don't worry it will pick up soon.

oh my gosh I'm the opposite.. I have never eaten so much in my life (I'm 17 weeks).. I eat a big lunch at 12 then by 2pm I've got a sore tummy from hunger.

Isn't it funny?!

I'm 37+1 now and my appetite has decreased throughout the pregnancy so far. It is better now than it was earlier on, but I still struggle to eat a full meal and feel full up so much more quickly. I haven't had any cravings at all either.

I find I can only eat a small meal and struggle with normal portions. I struggled to eat 1/2 a small Domino's pizza the other night - 3 tiny slices! Last night I struggled with a small piece of chicken (a Birds Eye flavoured chargrill), some broccoli and a tiny handful of new potatoes... And then I am not hungry at all until breakfast.

I know it is a good thing in its own way but it is bizarre.

And I just don't fancy ANYTHING! I have no food inspiration as it all feels a bit "meh". I enjoy it when I eat it but I don't get that "Ooooooh I could just got for a Nando's" type craving.

17 weeks here too and identical. Not strange at all. :)

Glad it isn't just me! Grin
