West Hampstead- which hospital?

Hi there- we are new to the West Hampstead area and I am just registering at a GP (esp as I just found out I am pregnant). They told me that I need to choose a hospital and self-refer. My nearest options look to be: Royal Free; Whittington; St Mary's; Queen Charlotte's; and University College Hospital. I am seeing mixed reviews about the maternity wards so was wondering if anyone had any experience of these hospitals and which they would recommend. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm in Muswell Hill. I was with the Whittington but had a poor experience with the scan doctors and the midwife so I've just transferred to UCLH who were so much better. It's further geographically for us but I had to go with my gut.

Thanks so much for the response @le42 Was royal free an option for you at all? I think I'm narrowing down between royal free, Whittington and UCLH. I seem to have seen the best reviews about UCLH but royal free is closest to us and I think if you register there you can have your antenatal classes at our local GP (thought would be a good way to meet other parents in the local area). Thanks again! x

Hi, I wonder if you can see this thread. I asked about those three hospitals in a local mum's group and had 81 responses!

General consensus seemed to be worse feedback for Royal Free but it's so tricky to know! The convenience is a big point... especially when heavily pregnant. I had to get ubers to my appointments when it was so hot as I just couldnt sit on the tube!

Let me know if you can read this thread.
