Not gaining weight

I should probably point out that I am overweight to start with so it's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just unusual for me.
My other pregnancies i put on 3-4 stone (they're birth weights ranged from 8lb15 to 9lb7).
This pregnancy I have a noticeable bump at 16 weeks but haven't really gained any weight (I fluctuate between 0-3lbs). Should I be worried do you think?

I think if your midwife isn't worried there is no need for you to be. I don't actually believe they feel you 'need' to gain weight until the third trimester anyway! (If only my body had listened to that...)

Like you say, you are a bit overweight anyway so you won't need to gain as much as someone who is smaller than you. If baby is healthy and you feel healthy then there is nothing to worry about! I'd only worry if you were losing weight tbh! Remember, baby takes what they need and leaves us with the leftovers Grin

Hi. I'm overweight and currently 16+4 with twins! I've lost a stone but no one is at all concerned. They said I may start putting some on in later part of second trimester, definitely third. I'm kind of glad because I imagined myself ballooning & never having an obvious bump, just more weight all over but pleasantly surprised to have a nice rounded bump.

I don’t think you ‘need’ to gain much weight in pregnancy, do you? I haven’t gained much except bump

I'm 26 weeks. BMI was 31 when I got pregnant and I'm the same weight now, in fact a lb or so lighter. Midwife isn't concerned. I've noticeably lost weight off my face, legs, arms.

I’m overweight and was told by consultant that I should aim to gain a minimal amount or stay the same. I’m 37 weeks and have gained 6lbs. Are you having growth scans or being measured? That way they can be sure the baby is growing OK, even if you stay the same.

I didn't put on any weight until I was about 23 weeks even though my bump was growing. I was worried about it but my midwife wasn't. I am 28 weeks now and have put on 14 pounds. Don't worry you are all good x
