Hello - have had some spotting today, which seems to be getting worse. Not loads, like last day of a period. Have some stomach pains but to be honest am unable to separate anxious twinges and cramping. Just looking for reassurance really. Am 6+4 and GP said not to go to EPU until am at least 7 weeks, but to try to wait til am 8. Any positive stories welcome - I know it could be bad news but am a FTM and just really anxious and blue right now. TIA, all.

Is it brown blood? (Sorry to be grim!) brown blood is old blood so therefore, try not to worry. But even the odd bit of pink/red spotting can be totally normal. I appreciate its horribly scary and worrying tho. Thanks

Thanks both! Yesterday was fairly bright red but not much. Today is dark with some tiny bits in. Grim. Have an EPU scan next week - not sure what to expect there, any insight or tips?

I really resent brown blood being described as ‘normal’ purely because I had a missed miscarriage last year and brown blood was the only symptom.

This pregnancy (28+5 and all well) I had some pink/red spotting at 4 weeks and again at 6 weeks. I was panicked as hell but it was thankfully nothing. It can be absolutely fine and mean nothing at all.

EPU will try an abdominal scan first but at that stage probably won’t be able to see anything so will need to do a transvaginal scan. The women at my local EPU were amazing, extremely compassionate and understanding.
