Nausea remedies

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and the nausea has hit me bad. I have it all day. Last time I was pregnant it lasted five months and I put on too much weight from basically only being able to eat carbs for that long.

Can anyone recommend any cures/remedies/anything I can take to help this. I'm finding it hard with my toddler now.

I tried a few different things in both pregnancies and managed to not be sick. Still had nausea, but no sickness. Sickness bands on my wrists did help a bit, as did B6 supplements. Ginger capsules kind of helped but I’ve never been a massive fan of the taste of ginger, so usually couldn’t get myself to take it! Other than that eating a lot of carbs...
The best thing for me was doxylamine succinate. Unfortunately it is available over the counter in the US, but not in the U.K... My family sent it to me... it was my lifesaver. I’m actually surprised it isn’t used here given how widely it is used in other western countries for morning sickness!

Travel sickness bands were a lifesaver for me, those and fruit pastles.

Sparkling water, ice cold. Cream crackers.

That's all really. Try not to eat too much crap, I think it makes you feel worse overall.

You have all my empathy, pregnancy nausea is the pits.

Eating little and often and a pack of ginger biscuits helped me

Couple of almonds every hour worked for me.

Thanks, I haven't even lost all my last pregnancy weight and can't afford to put any more on. I've basically eaten carbs today.

I'm taking the pregnacare pregnancy vitamin so that should have the vitamin b6 in? I'm scared of taking too much.

I'm going to buy some sickness bands and try everything you all say.

I was taking pregncare plus 3 half tablets of B6 a day. I was well under the limit. I just remember what the limit was!!

Dalesgirl16 · 16/08/2018 20:44

When you say three half tablets can you remember what dose the pill was?

These ones, I might have even take 3 full ones a day on the worst days... I read up to 200mg a day is safe, but they have had tests up to 500+mg per day in the first trimester without ill effect. I was happy to stick to the 200mg limit, which I did with DD and my current pregnancy.

I've got those tablets today. I feel so sick by evening. Now I can't face dinner and all I end up eating is more bread. :(

The iron in pregnancy multivitamins made me even more sick than I already was, might be worth trying folic acid on its own to see if that helps.

Dalesgirl16 · 21/08/2018 21:10

Thanks. I have heard of pregnacare making people sick!
