I am 14+4 and been looking into pregnancy yoga classes. Wasn’t as easy to find one near me as you’d think but I found details of someone who teaches and it turns out she t aches pregnancy yoga 4 x per week and her Thurs and Friday classes are at places near me.

The Thursday one would mean me leaving work early which I I might be able to do or I could do the Friday one as it’s slightly later.

Any tips? Do you just do it once (I wondered whether I should go both days) and what do you wear?

Or I might try both and see which one I prefer for venue / number of people etc...

I started going to pregnancy yoga at around 14 weeks. I really like it. I go once a week, and it’s pretty chilled. It’s like regular yoga but less strenuous and we also do breathing exercises to prepare for labour. I just wear leggings and a t-shirt or vest top.

Thank you @Attie17 Think I might try it next week!

Oh I loved it. Did it twice a week in 1st pregnancy and once, sometimes twice, 2nd time around. It really helped me with various aches and pains and I met some lovely women too. I wore leggings amd vests/tshirts or whatever fitted by the end. It's pretty low key.

I'd highly recommend doing it to anyone remotely inclined.

My pregnancy yoga class is suuuuper chilled. Some adapted yoga, some breathing, pelvic floor exercises and a nice long relaxation at the end. I just wear a vest top and leggings. A few of the women just come and sit and skip the yoga moves as they have SPD etc. I bloody love it.

Sounds amazing! I am tempted to try it tomorrow

I would do it more than once a week, it's just a nice time for you to relax, not stress about anything and concentrate on yourself.... but with some nice stretching!

I wear a baggy jumpsuit as my sports leggings are all too tight and I haven't bought any maternity ones yet. But most people just wear leggings/shorts and a t-shirt.

You don't need to have done yoga before, there's no crazy positions!!! :)

I went once but I did a big fart so I never went back.

AliceRR · 17/08/2018 16:55

@le42 I would do it twice a week potentially but would be better spread through be week rather than Thursday and then Friday

@Damnitpatrice 😂

I'm 28 weeks and go to a class once a week, which is super relaxing and easy. I also tried this class on YouTube which i really like (it's for third tri onwards):

If you're completely new to yoga the YouTube video might be a little challenging in places though.

The class has been nice for meeting ladies in the area who are also pregnant as I have no pregnant friends!

I went for both of my pregnancies and found it really helpful. Wear loose comfortable clothes and a bottle of water! That's all Smile

It helped with the births too Wink
