OH is doing my head in

I wouldn't say I was the worlds most patient person anyway, but I'm 5 weeks pregnant and hormones are full on kicking in.

OH has just come back from two days away and I missed him so much. But now he is mouth breathing loudly in his sleep and keeps doing this twitchy thing he does after he's just nodded off.

I suddenly can't stand him and it's taking everything in me to not kick him out of bed.

Please tell me this goes away after the first trimester, I've got 35 weeks left and I could do without murdering my partner.

Give him a kick.

Oh god this is me and I'm not even pregnant yet 😂😂 god help DH when I am

Fartootiredforthisshit · 16/08/2018 00:03

Send him to sleep on the couch, that's what I did.

SirHubzALot · 16/08/2018 00:09

It goes away in the second trimester but now I'm 30 weeks and I'm back wanting to punch DP when he chews loudly. I hope it goes away again soon and I can be a reasonably human being again.

Pepper123123 · 16/08/2018 00:29

Oh god I can relate.

I'm 13 weeks and I'm constantly irritated by my DP.
The heightened sense of smell means I can't stand him breathing or talking near me. His breath suddenly turns my stomach, yet it was never something I noticed before I was pregnant.

He's currently in a mood with me because he stroked my knee...I hate it touched since I broke my kneecap a few years ago...and I told him off for it.

BlueBug45 · 16/08/2018 00:54

Heightened sense of smell went away somewhere in the middle of 2nd trimester but dealing with annoying sleeping habits ebbed and flowed due to insomnia kicking in.

LowPainThreshold · 16/08/2018 09:11

OH MY GOD DONT START ME ON THE CHEWING

I'm starting to think we're going to have to upscale our house now so that OH has a room specifically for eating and sleeping.

He also tells bad jokes on purpose. Cute before, now I want to punch him in the face.

This was me last night, also 5 weeks! He was snoring and I was getting so angry 😂 I went to sleep on the sofa though as I felt too bad to wake him up... sure the niceness will wear off soon!

SirHubzALot · 16/08/2018 15:25

Also why has my DP chosen now to start snoring!? I'm getting through so many ear plugs...

Chloe929 · 17/08/2018 09:35

Oh god... my partner is a teeth grinder in his sleep. Annoying in the past, but I could deal (I slept like the dead). Now I'm waking up every few hours to it! I'm only 5 weeks currently and am wondering/hoping/praying that I'll either go back to sleeping heavily or get used to it again...

The other annoying thing (though this annoyed me before, I just usually didn't wake up to it) is the 14 year old. He wakes up in the middle of the night (3am) and hits his head against his pillow to try and get back to sleep... now it's keeping me up and waking me up. He's been told the next time it happens, I'm telling him to get dressed and he'll be going for a run.

LowPainThreshold · 17/08/2018 14:00

OK so glad it's not just me!

I am sorry to say but it will probably get a whole lot worse 😂😂

LowPainThreshold · 19/08/2018 03:52

@itallhappensforareason 😂😂😂😂 I had a feeling someone would say that! I have prepared OH

Ah. Yeah, this didn’t actually go away until after the births for me with either pregnancy. A few weeks after the birth with my first, a few days after with the second. This is precisely why we now have a really nice memory foam topper mattress on the spare room bed. (Remember as the pregnant party you get dibs on whichever bed is most comfy, and it is totally ok to try out all your options before deciding).

LowPainThreshold · 20/08/2018 11:58

@ProseccoPoppy last night was horrendous, he passed out facing me so was actually breathing on me. I've taken to being nocturnal. DSS6 has a bunk bed so great idea re:memory foam topper. I'm sure OH will be very comfy in there.

OMG I can't stand my DP right now, and I'm 11 weeks. Everything he does irritates me Grin

WhirlingTurkey · 20/08/2018 13:29

I'm 17 weeks and I've gone "full crab" as my husband kindly refers to it (as in extremely crabby). I'm fully aware that I'm beyond grumpy now and not very pleasant to be around, but I can't help it. Everything smells, everything is irritating... aaargh!!!
