I smell!

I’m almost embarrassed to be writing this but I need to know if anyone else is in the same boat at me.

I’m 9 weeks pregnant and since about week 5/6 I’ve noticed that I seem to smell a bit! Like a sweat/BO type smell. I wash daily and I’m wearing much more deodorant than normal but I can still smell it on me and on my clothes, even very soon after showering! It’s making me feel quite self conscious and ill!

I’m now worried that I smell like this all the time and never noticed before, just because I have a better sense of smell now ConfusedGrin. My poor DH - I’ve asked him to smell me a couple of times and he has confirmed there is a slight odour but maybe not as bad as I think, and that he never noticed it before I was pregnant.

Why is this, is it hormones or what?! Anyone else the same? X

Omg I feel exactly the same. Currently at 9 weeks and I feel like I royally stink! Showering every morning and by lunch I'm gross. If you find a solution let me know! 😭

I smelled during early pregnancy too. Was more of a sour smell with me, I thought it was just my sense of smell but no apparently it was noticeable. Dp assured me the smell went before the 12 week scan and I went back to normal. Really weird though, to be able to smell yourself and it be not what you're used to.

It must be hormones, I was the same Sad

Same here but don’t think the heatwave is helping either!

Don't worry. You may have a mild hormonal pong but we are in a v sweaty summer plus your sense of smell has gone through the roof! It will soon pass and you will get to the not pongy, lovely skin and great hair part of pregnancy! Enjoy!

I smell like god damn vinegar. All the time. I had it in early pregnancy, then it eased and now it’s back at 20 weeks. It must be hormones x

I was the same! Changed deodorant and it made all the difference. Now using Mitchum and it’s fantastic, no more embarrassing days at work.

Yes - I had this. My boobs smelled and I think 'down below' smelled different too. In fact, the latter was my first clue that I was pregnant! Either I've got used to it now or it's gone away - not sure which!

I found my sense of smell has gone through the roof. I was expecting it to improve as the pregnancy progressed but if anything it's worse. The dog weed everywhere this morning and even though it's been mopped and bleached I can still smell it.

Also I'm revolted by the smell of my own feet and shoes. The shoes have all gone through the washing machine but the feet are a bit more tricky to deal with in late pregnancy as I can't reach them with a flannel any more! Husband reckons he can't smell anything so I think it's the hormones.

27 weeks here and I have smelt sour for about a week, even though the heat has gone. It's a pain in the arse as I don't have enough non-wired maternity bras for a fresh one every day! Hoping it goes.

Switch to soap instead of shower gel! I found in my last pregnancy I was a sweaty hormonal mess and same again this time around but someone posted saying about using soap instead of shower gel and I've noticed the difference!
