Telling my boss

I loost a baby last year and am now pregnant (5 weeks) i will be under the care of fetal medicine and scanned regularly. I don't really want to tell anyone but my mum has suggested i tell my manager. Just incase anything does happen and because i will have lots of appointments . Not sure what to do as i don't want to tempt fate? Help

I left it very late to tell my employer. However it depends on the type of job you have. Office job? I’d stay quiet until 12 weeks. A more physical job, I’d tell them sooner rather than later so they can risk assess you and make accommodations if necessary.
