Found out this morning that I am pregnant. I am totally shell shocked, even though me and OH were not at all being careful. I am only 4 weeks.

I have been quite nauseous and off my food for a few days, which was why alarm bells were ringing, but since finding out this morning it has doubled and I am pretty sure the vomiting is going to begin soon. Have had to come to bed with a sturdy bag for life and a packet of dry crackers. Everything I look at turns my stomach, and opening the fridge is impossible. Even thinking of the fridge makes me want to puke. DSS is on summer hols and needs entertaining. EURGH.

Anyone else have it this soon?

I am pretty lucky with my current pregnancy, having had almost no sickness other than between 6-10 weeks.
However I have one, slightly gross, tip for you. Apple juice. If you start feeling very sick, drink some and it will dull the taste of whatever you bring up. Vile, I know but slightly sicky apple tastes better than anything else you could bring up. Hope it eases soon for you!

BaronessBomburst · 13/08/2018 13:32

Yes. I was three days pregnant when I started feeling sick. It was two weeks later before I got a positive test and in the meantime DH just thought I was going mad.
I second the apple juice.
And I hope the nausea wears off soon!

Nausea was the first thing that tipped me off. It started bang on 4 weeks.

Thankfully it was mainly nausea that I suffered with. I was only sick a handful of times, and usually in the evenings.

I found salty food and cold food to be my saviours :) can't comment on the apple juice trick as I can't stand it anyway!

Yes with both of mine on the day of a missed period it started and with a vengeance! Baby one it went on till 18 weeks baby 2 - 13 weeks. I took cyclizine with number two which helped a lot.

LowPainThreshold · 13/08/2018 17:41

All I can right now is lie down, any getting up and walking around is just a no-no.

Think we might have a McDonalds for dinner, will be interesting...

@lowpainthreshold I think we lived off McDonald’s in the early weeks. The nuggets were a godsend!

I'm 34 weeks and still puking. Showering yesterday morning and breakfast can't back up. I'm constantly drinking to keep my mouth wet and trying to calm stomach but then I get too sloshy like I've drank too much lol. Can't win. I'm on countdown, I hope it stops for you soon Thanks

counterpoint · 13/08/2018 19:28

Congratulations. Smile

All good signs.

LowPainThreshold · 13/08/2018 19:31

@steph Ahhhh nuggets great shout!!

So sorry to hear that @wonder, and I can't imagine it's been great in the heat we had either, but how exciting that you'll have your little one soon.

Much like baroness I woke up vomiting in the night at a few days post conception. That’s how I knew. A HPT confirmed a week or two later

And it never stopped.... now 38 weeks and still puking.

The earlier you treat the better the outcome. To the docs with you!

BaronessBomburst · 14/08/2018 10:58

I wasn't going to mention that Babelfish ! Grin
My sickness finally disappeared during labour. Apparently I was the first woman they'd ever had asking for toast and coffee in between contractions.

Bobbiepin · 14/08/2018 11:03

Go ask for cyclizine. Whatever food you can keep down, eat, don't worry about being healthy too much, baby will take what they need from you and the vitamins anyway. Take the vitamins in the evening before bed so you're more likely to keep them down. Ginger everything. Sucking on lemon slices helped me a bit but can make the vomit more acidic and painful. Congrats!

wonderstar1216 · 14/08/2018 11:18

Sure is, but what has really helped is ice poles. Then you aren't drinking so much then needing to wee for England. You are right though, the heat hasn't helped!
@Bowlofbabelfish countdown mode by any chance?

Bowlofbabelfish · 14/08/2018 12:31

Section booked Monday morning!

Currently vomiting every hour or two and very uncomfortable - horrible backache and pelvic pressure but never had any Braxton-Hicks or contractions with this or the last one so I think I just have to wait this week out. I feel hideous but the end is in sight!

wonderstar1216 · 14/08/2018 13:34

Awesome! The end is in sight! I have a growth scan this afternoon as she's a bit of a porker!

LowPainThreshold · 15/08/2018 19:14

Thank you @bobbiepin - I will write that one down. Is it too early to be asking for meds? I'm scared the doctor will laugh me away.

Bobbiepin · 15/08/2018 22:13

I went when I had thrown up 8 times in a day and the GP asked why I hadn't come earlier. I dont know if cyclizine does much for nausea (I think it does) but it does help with sickness if you take it properly and not wait until you can't keep down water and throw up the tablets anyway

Can't hurt to ask! Even if you hold onto it for later.
