Hi! It's a first post in a long time from me. I have three beautiful children but i'm struggling to shut the door on that chapter of my life, of having one more baby. Everything, practically speaking, says don't do it, but i can't quite lay it down. Would love to hear from anyone with experience in having a baby at 43-44. x

I don't have that experience but I've been on these boards long enough to see it all. You may find it easy and smooth sailing. You may find that you can't conceive or that you have several early miscarriages. You won't know until/ unless you try.

Had 2nd child at 45 and have a couple of friends who also had babies at that stage. Pregnancy was more tiring and I'm rubbish at giving birth (had to be induced) but no regrets at all. The way I looked at it was that if my body was up for getting pregnant, then I would cope. I did work hard at getting fit beforehand though!

For me, it would be more about the age gap between DCs 3 and 4.

My aunt decided at 41 to go for no. 4 her youngest was 8. She's so glad she dud6of course everyone assumed it was an accident but she was very much planned. The older children have had the best bond with her. My aunt said definitely more tiring being in her 40s but as you know the sleepless nights soon pass too and she had great help from older DC. As PP said you may be super fertile or you could have some bumps along the way. If you really want another start soon!! Good luck.

So glad she did

Same as Fruitloop - had number 2 at 45. Knackered, but isn't everyone with children?😀

Absolutely no regrets, even though I'm now 51 with a 6 yo.

I'm almost 41 years old and just pregnant with number 5 😳

Feeling super tired and sick at the moment but to be expected! My youngest is 2 years old so I'm already knackered, what's one more going to do? ConfusedBrew

I'm 44 and my first (and only) born has just turned 1. It's the best thing I've ever done. I really don't see my age as an issue (although she was ivf but not due to my age iyswim).
