39 weeks tomorrow and bloody fed up

I suppose this is just me wanting a moan :') 39 weeks tomorrow, small build with a very huge bump. Little man measuring 7.1lb 3 weeks ago (I know these can be very wrong) but I'm just so fed up and want my baby here now! I can barley move! So much hip pain. I've tried everything from lots of walking, DTD, clary sage, raspberry leaf tea, scrubbing my kitchen floor on all fours :')
I know they come when they're ready but my god wouldn't it be nice for them to come when you're at breaking point :') sorry for the moan, just really needed it! X

I could have written this except I’m 40 weeks on Tuesday! Our 36 week growth scan put her at 7.3 😩

I can’t do this much longer! I feel like a blimp! Absolutely no sign yet though.

My pain is mainly in my knees rather than hips. I’ve put on over 20kg and I think a lot of it is water - my feet and fingers are like water balloons. That’s a source of a lot of my discomfort and I CANNOT WAIT to get rid of it!!!

Dreamingofkfc · 12/08/2018 16:01

Feel exactly the same, but i'm 40+1! First arrived at 39+6, 2nd at 40+2....hoping I don't have too much longer to go but I'm soooo uncomfortable!

LostMyBaubles · 12/08/2018 16:03

Not as far as you but being induced next week
Baby measured over 8lb at 35 weeks

What ive tried
Dtd once a day
Nipple stimulation

Get the most tightenings after these 2

Walking
Cleaning etc

Anything else i can do?

LottieLou90 · 12/08/2018 17:01

This sounds like I wrote this - in fact I wrote a very similar post a few days ago. I’m 40 weeks in a couple of days and completely fed up. I feel like my bump has grown massively over the past few days and it doesn’t help at all that I have SPD.
My midwife recommended DTD, long walks, going up and down the stairs sideways, clary sage, bouncing on medicine ball, acupressure points, nipple stimulation, hot bath, spicy food - I could go on. I’m so fed up and after reading similar posts from other users I think I’ve finally given up and trying to accept the fact that I can’t push him along until baby and body are ready.
I get Braxton Hicks a lot (mainly at night) and I get my hopes up but by morning they have gone.
I know it’s not long now but I am truly feeling your pain. Wishing all of you ladies the best of luck and sending positive contraction thoughts Flowers

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow. Literally second guessing every twinge. So frustrating!!! My mum had me 3.5 weeks early so I had it in my head throughout my pregnancy that I would be the same. No such luck. Really struggling to sleep while I am so uncomfortable and then get paranoid that I will go into labour when I am shattered. Lots of Braxton Hicks but nothing more. Getting so annoyed by well meaning but overbearing friends and family 'checking in'. Tried spice, sex, ball, walking, cleaning, raspberry leaf. Bought some clary sage but read a lot of conflicting views on how safe it is ore labour... Confused

Dreamingofkfc · 12/08/2018 17:16

I've tried everything - been on raspberry leaf tea since 32 weeks, taking Evening primrose oil since 34 weeks, been on so many long walks, been bouncing on my ball every night, hand expressing since 36 weeks and harvesting the colostrum, used a whole bottle of Clary sage in the bath and on the bump, had curries, 6 dates a day, sex.....I know as a midwife that babies come when they are ready but as a pregnant person I'm just soooo ready!

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/08/2018 17:22

My wee one was apparently measuring 8lbs at 36.5 weeks and she arrived at 40+4 at 7.5 lbs ! They definitely can be wrong. I was so worried she was going to be huge that I started trying everything from 38 weeks.... Nothing worked 🙈 wish I'd just chilled out instead lol.

It's so hard waiting at the end. With my first, my waters went 3 days before my due date, after having some very hot nandos hot sauce ! Worth a try if you don't like spicy food like me lol

Bowlofbabelfish · 12/08/2018 17:25

A week behind you, also utterly fed up.

Nothing to suggest, but oodles of sympathy.

jellybean218 · 12/08/2018 22:01

Oh I'm so glad it's not just me! All my friends think I'm crazy for feeling this way (none whom have ever been pregnant) and it's driving me up the wall!! I should hopefully be getting a sweep tomorrow at 39 weeks! So fingers crossed it gets things moving.

The hot curries did nothing for me, the nipple stimulation just made BH a little more frequent but they would stop quickly and everything else just does the same. Ramos up the BH but they stop overnight it's so frustrating!

I hope all you ladies that are ready get your little bambinos soon! X

Ramped up the BH* auto correct 🙄😂 also I'm hoping they have got the weight wrong! I'm glad he's healthy but I'd prefer 7lb sometime than 9lb something :') x

So much sympathy OP, due to be induced on thursday (will be 41 weeks) and have tried every trick in the book, expressing (I have nearly 100mls of colostrum in the freezer now Shock), raspberry leaf tea to try and ripen my cervix, last night I turned round to dh and said "I know it's not romantic but you put this baby in me, now I need your help to get him out" haha. Other than spicy food none of it has worked. Midwife tried a sweep on thursday but my cervix is still to high and posterior which isn't too suprising since babies feet are practically tickling my tonsils making gaviscon nearly half of my daily fluid intake. Praying this wee monster takes after his big brother and decides to break my waters early morning on my induction date if he doesn't come sooner.

Wishing you luck and congratulations in advance Flowers

jellybean218 · 13/08/2018 00:19

@Vampyress nearly 100mls?! Wow! That's fantastic! Can't believe nothing has worked for you either. Haha I have said the exact same thing to DH, every day this week and he's soldiered through :') the romance is completely gone at this point hasn't it! 😂 oh the heart burn is ridiculous isn't it? Never known anything like it! Gaviscon has been my best friend :') oh I do hope your waters go the morning of your induction! but If not I wish you all the best with your induction and congratulations in advance to you too! Thanks xx

@jellybean218 I have been expressing for the last 3 weeks every night as I have already overbaked 2 ds and wanted to try and get a jump on things haha, with my youngest ds one of my biggest regrets was not keeping the colostrum so I have been raiding the hospital and midwife for syringes this time and well my freezer looks a bit ominous now haha Blush. I have always had serious latch problems as I have really big flat nipples (sorry for the tmi) so having a bit of a stash should hopefully help me get a head start this time as I was really burnt out having to pump every time ds woke up to feed by 2 months. Bought myself a double electric pump and a hands free bra so hoping I can keep it up a bit longer and cut down the time for this little monster.

God the heartburn and acid reflux is absolute madness, at least it has cooled down now though, I think it's only us pregnant ladies who are happy that the summer has finally ended for a few weeks lol, my hair finally feels dry for the first time in over a month Grin.

My youngest ds is 15 months on my induction date and this baby was planned so i don't really have too much right to complain about pregnancy woes. Thankfully this will be my last though, having spent only 6 months out of 2 years not pregnant I am so over it!!

It's nice to share with other mummies and know you aren't alone xxx

jellybean218 · 13/08/2018 00:56

@Vampyress oooo overbaked 2?! How did you cope! At least with your induction you know when your little one is coming this time :') haha I'm sure the the hospital and midwives have plenty to spare for you :') oh that's not tmi don't you worry! There's no aires and graces when it comes to pregnancy haha.

Oh I've never been so glad to say goodbye to the sun for a little while! I'm usually a sun lover but I'm pretty sure all of us pregnant ladies haven't appreciated the sun this summer. The under boob and under bump sweat.. eurgh! So glad it's cooled down.

Oh you have every right to complain! Only 6 months pregnant free in 2 years I'd be doing my fair share of maiming too. I hope you have enjoyed your pregnancy and it been as lovely as it can be though with it being your last 😊 I'm a FTM and pregnancy has just whooped my bottom. I take my hat off to all you lovely ladies that do it more than once :') and yes it's so nice to share and know you're not alone xxx

Dates, raspberry tea amd clary sage all help once labour has started, not to labour in the first place.

If curry, pineapple or sex induced labour, no-one would ever need a medical induction.

Just try to embrace the last few weeks of pregnancy if you can. Read, take long baths, go to the cinema, hair cut, eyebrows threaded. Nothing you can do at homme will start you labouring I'm afraid.

Vampyress · 13/08/2018 02:34

@jellybean218 yep I had my eldest 14 years ago (fell pregnant very young) and he was 2 weeks overdue! My toddler was a week late and this one is gunning for the same!

This pregnancy has unfortunately been my worst, I feel like my pubic bone is cracking like an egg (I suffer from spd) and running around after my gorgeous chimpanzee hasn't been easy lol.

Pitt is right that nothing truly induces labour and we should embrace the little time we get to sleep and treat ourselves. Our cargo will arrive to their own schedule, just wish I could take the bump off for an hour now and again haha!

Biology is a magical thing, we mums tend to forget how pregnancy and labour is, fairly convinced it's natures way of keeping the species going haha. I wish you so much joy once your little one arrives, it's hard and there are days where it just straight sucks during the sleep deprived days, but I swear there is there so much fun, love and laughter to come and no matter what happens hun, always remember that you are doing great! Flowers xxx

CP96 · 13/08/2018 07:09

I'm 40 + 6 here and sooo fed up. Every day seems to be going so slowly and having no sign of labour is also frustrating.

Anyone else over due?

jellybean218 · 13/08/2018 10:14

Oh @Vampyress looks like your little ones love to keep you waiting a little bit :')

I know nothing really does induce labour at home it's usually just whatever people try and coincidentally go into labour naturally I think but it's always good to try and hope :')

Thank you ever so much for your lovely words! I will definitely take that in! Wishing you all the best with your induction. Relax while you can and a whole lot of self love Thanksx
