Hi

I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant and absolutely full of a cough and a cold. I went to the pharmacy today and she said I could take Simple Linctus. But the bottle says not to take unless directly told to do so by a GP.

Does anyone know if it's safe to take Simple Linctus and are Halls Soothers ok too?

I asked my MV and she just recommended hot Vimto! Lol!

I've recently had a bad cold and all I lived on was paracetamol, hot water honey & lemon and vicks!

I took simple linctus at around 12 weeks pregnant. I has the most horrendous cough I went to the counter and asked what I could take while pregnant and that's what I was given. I was impressed it actually sort of worked. It's basically glycerin, honey and lemon? If you're worried make yourself a hot drink with honey and lemon for similar effects. But if the pharmacist said it was okay, I'd trust them, they know what they're talking about.
I would also suggest calpol, and any remedies from the baby aisle, such as baby vapour rub and saline spray. All surprisingly effective!

Hope you feel better soon!!

I feel you!

Agree with PP, hot water with real lemon juice an honey is a dream.

Paracetamol and as much sleep and rest as you can possibly get.

Get well soon.

Thank you, I'm hoping this will pass in a few days. I think I'll have some honey and Paracetamol instead!

My 7 month old DD also has it, so as you can imagine, I've not had as much sleep as I would of liked! Lol!
