Horrible cold

I'm 18 weeks and have the most horrible cold. I don't have a temperature, just constantly sneezing (like over 30/40times per day!!) and runny/bunged up nose, generally feeling meh. Can I do anything? Take anything? I'm worried the amount of sneezing is not good for baby as my whole stomach tenses up... But I'm sure that's just silly?!

The sneezing isn't a problem.

You can take paracetamol, honey and lemon, a hot shower with a few drops of oblas oil

I had the worst cold of my life at 38 weeks pregnant with DC1, I found a hot flannel over my face with a drop of olbas oil also worked wonders.

Thanks! Out of interest, did u get advice about olbas oil from pharmacy or midwife etc? Google has mixed opinions on whether it's safe or not with lots reporting the pharmacy wouldn't prescribe olbas in pregnancy. (not judging you for using it by the way - it's impossible to do EVERYTHING 100% by the book, just interested if u did get advised anything).

I use the olbas oil stick constantly throughout pregnancy and it was fine. To be honest I can't see how it wouldn't be?

I had dreadful nasal congestion for months with dc1 plus endless colds. I bought a cheap facial steamer from argos and used that twice a day to relieve the pain.

I had a bad cold a couple of weeks ago and found the best relief to be Vicks in hot water which I inhaled for about 10 minutes then Vicks on my back at bed time.
