Help - lower back - I can't walk!

I got out of bed this morning and I literally can't stand up. My lower back has totally seized up. I'm 29w 3.

What can I do?! I've tried paracetamol, a warm bath and a heatpack.

Do I need physio? A chiropractor? A new back? I'm can't manage more than a few steps.

Go to an osteopath, try alternating ice and heat in the meantime and keep moving.

If you need stronger pain killers then you need to make an emergency appointment with your GP.

Ok - I will try adding some ice. I'm like an old lady bent double.

Never been to an osteopath, what do I look for? Do I need a pregnancy specialist?

I've got a soft bump support that helps a bit. Would a more sturdy one make a difference?

@bugblue45 I didn't realize that was an option! Good to hear if I get desperate.

Both chiropractor and osteopath would be appropriate. Ideally one with a special interest in pregnancy. You could also look on the spinning babies website for some gentle stretches- you could try a yoga child pose with wide knees bump-depending

I had this. Midwife referred me to a physio but in the meantime try the cats pose. Mine was totally debilitating just like you describe, couldn’t stand up and it was agony. Then, it just went! Good luck x

Right more stretching it is then. I was doing cat pose earlier. I really hope this goes!

Try an osteopath that has experience with pregnant women. Mine was amazing, like you I couldn't walk, fixed in two sessions. Could've kissed her.
