It feels like Ds2 is scratching at my cervix/bladder, and it REALLY hurts!!

Anyone else had this? (39wks today)

(I'm not in labour or anything though...)

Sure you've not go a uti? They can be sharp sometimes.

flightattendant · 02/06/2007 19:48

Yes, Thanks Colditz, definitely the baby...it's only occasional and only when he's wriggling!

Doesn't hurt to wee. I'm sure I've heard of this before though...they can apparently scratch a hole in the amniotic sac, their nails are so sharp by now!

i don;t think you can feel his nails ! but he is getting nestled down ready for birth and all your bits are no doubt more senstive, so you are feeling things more intensley

bumperlicious · 02/06/2007 21:30

FA, I've felt like this too, though not on my bladder, just on what feels like the walls of my insides! Don't know if it really is finger nails but that's what it feels like!

Good luck with the next few weeks and remember we are all on the June thread if you want to pop in!

flightattendant · 02/06/2007 22:39

Thanks Bumper. Am stalking the June thread

I had this with all three of mine very uncomfortable lol and all my three came out with their hand on the side of their faces!

TaylorsMummy · 03/06/2007 21:22

he might be pressing on a nerve or on your cervix, rather than scratching you.good luck, very exciting!!

beckmo · 04/06/2007 06:05

I have this too!And I swear it is his or her fingernails...it feels like the baby is kind of tickling or scratching really low down. In fact it had kept me awake this morning hence the unreasonable time I'm posting this...

Maybe the baby will just gently open my cervix and pop out - missing labour entirely? That's what i'm counting on anyway.

ghosty · 04/06/2007 07:24

I had this on my tummy above my belly button - really felt like the baby was scratching ... the doctor said it was my muscles 'tearing' [ouch]

flightattendant · 04/06/2007 09:02

Ghosty -

Beckmo - same here chicken. I could use the 'skip labour entirely' thing.

xxkiexx - DON'T SAY THAT!!!!!!!! Like we need a nuchal hand, Oh my, and Three of them!??!!!! (bows in awe of xxkiexx's pain threshold)

lol i got used to it in the end although sitting in a public place rested on one bum cheek pulling strange faces i got a few looks!

LordVenger · 04/06/2007 10:13

Oh I had this too, with DD1. And when she came out Tales of the Unexpected face she had blood under her fingernails

Housemum · 04/06/2007 12:54

I was tempted to call my DD Hermione as she came out with her bloomin' hand up! Please miss, I'm here!! Meant I got stuck in hosp overnight as they wanted to be sure I was OK where she'd scratched me so I had a catheter in overnight.

xxkiexx · 06/06/2007 09:19

Have you had the baby yet???

beckmo · 06/06/2007 09:23

Lordvenger you have just given me nightmares!

Flightattendant when are you due again? I'm due on the 8th.Wondering how quickly a babies fingernails can grow in 2 days time (not that I'm expecting this baby to stick to any timetable)....!

lulumama · 06/06/2007 09:24

the blood would be from delivery ! although am having a at 'tales of the unexpected face !!
