Picking Donor Sperm

Hi, I am new to this, all of this. I have recently turned 40 and after many years of waiting for years for things to happen "naturally" I have decided to take the step to try IVF using donor sperm as I am chronically single.

I have now eventually picked a clinic and had the initial blood tests, not great results but still a chance. #fingerscrossed

Anyway, my big dilema is to use local Donors in the UK or use the European Sperm Bank. I have picked a potential donor in each bank, but I just can't press the button! Any guidance and thoughts would be much appreciated!!!

Hi OP. Congratulations on taking the plunge, I hope it works for you.

We used donor sperm as we are a same sex couple. I looked into the Danish Cryos Bank as I liked the enhanced info they provided about the donors. But when I added on the extra charges that our clinic applied for using sperm other than from the London Sperm Bank, it became very expensive. Adding an "unnecessary" cost to the cost of the treatment wasn't something we could justify, so for that reason we went with the London Sperm Bank.
