I’m a ball of worry at the moment

Hi all. I’m a worry wart anyway but I’m paranoid I’ve had a missed miscarriage.

I am 8 weeks today and at the weekend I had some slight bleeding. Well it was more like old blood/dark mucus and only when I wiped, and then my usual milky discharge had a very slight pink tinge. It only happened on a couple of occasions so I didn’t worry too much as the midwife said old blood is nothing to worry about. I’ve been having mild cramps but I’ve had these all the way through the pregnancy so far and my midwife at my booking appt also said that was nothing to worry about.

This week I haven’t felt half as tired or nauseous since I have been doing previously. My boobs have also stopped hurting. They are still larger than normal and I still have a very strong sense of smell which I don’t usually have, but last week I couldn’t drink tea and this week I can have my morning cup again! Is it normal for symptoms to come and go like this? Could the dark mucus be the start of a miscarriage?

Due to my worry I have booked a private scan for this Saturday. I’ve got it in my head they’re going to tell me there’s nothing there or the baby hasn’t grown.

Firstly, I know it’s hard but please try not to worry. I’ve had several losses so know how agonising it can be to not know what’s happening Flowers
Old blood is usually not a cause for concern, and often it can bring some lighter blood/spotting with it as it comes away, which can also be normal.
With my Son, my symptoms did come and go, and had severe morning sickness but did find some days it went away before coming back, and some days I didn’t feel pregnant at all, but he was fine.
Hope it all goes well at the scan for you.

@gardenlover90 thanks so much for the reassurance. It’s my first pregnancy, don’t really have anything to compare it to so I’m not sure why I’m getting so anxious but I think I’ve just got it into my head that something’s wrong ever since the slight bleed xx
