Hiya,
at my 21 week scan last week the baby was breech. I'm wondering if it will turn around by the time the due date rolls around - really really don't want to have a c-section. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it pretty common?

hana. Don't worry. Probably 5 minutes after the scan your baby moved and was no longer breech! They move all the time, last week my baby was lying breech and this week he isn't (am 29 weeks).

I think they can move up right up until delivery (though may be wrong with this).

Will almost certainly turn over by 36 weeks and if it doesn't by then, then you can try all the alternative stuff to get it to: acupuncture, postions, asking it to! etc....really really no need to worry at all at this stage. hth

I was breech at my scan too, sonographer said it was nothing to worry about, they are 'allowed' to be at that stage. IMO it makes sense baby is sat up, why would he want to be upside down!!

DB was breech at an antenatal appointment at 28 weeks, an hour later I had a scan and he was head down...

He did this until 34 weeks so I wouldn't worry too much.

My dd1 was still breech at 31 weeks and dd2 was breech at 30 weeks. Both of them turned in plenty of time for delivery.

ahh that's great ladies, thanks for letting me know! Still nearly 1/2 way to go, so that's a lot of somersaults to do
