I am 29 weeks and saw my midwife today. I had a traumatic birth 4 day labour with forceps and ventouse tore back to front when they stitched me back up the junior doctor did the stitches wrong so they had to cut them all and start again which was a nightmare after a 4 day labour. My midwife has said about an elective c surgery for my 2nd baby. But im not sure at all what to do as i dont want my labour to be anything like my 1st but then im frightened of the recovery of a c section...what does anyone think??

I'm not keen on a c-section either but after what you've experienced I really think I'd go for it. At least you can plan to have help afterwards as you'll have a date to go by.

My labour wasn't quite as traumatic as yours bit my recovery was utter hell. I'm opting for a c section this time. What was your recovery like last time (mentally and physically)? That's what would swing it for me.

My recovery was fine from vaginal birth obviously sore from the stitching. But with operations I've had problems before with my skin becoming infected so im worried that this will happen again if I go for a c section

My recovery form vaginal birth was horrific - incontinence, pain, PND and PTSD. Which is why I'm opting for a c section this time.

If your recovery was good, then can you put with another 4 days of horror? As that's likely to be the worst case scenario.

Yeah I suppose I could, think because it is coming round quickly I'm getting frightened xx
