Hello, I am new to this group and am looking for some insight before I go crazy. I had a silent miscarriage 4 weeks ago and was given tablets to finish it off, since I went through it I have been bleeding on and off mainly spotting with slight cramping. I had to do a pregnancy test last week which came back with a faint positive I went for blood test for HCG yesterday and have been back in touch with the hosp this morning who have role me my levels are still high and I need to go back in the morning for another blood test. Me and my h2b have been having unprotected sex since as I've only been spotting. What can be the cause of these high hcg levels?? I'm going out of my kind with worry. Could I be pregnant again??

I think it’s possible. You’ve been having unprotected sex, so if you’ve ovulated in that time then there’s a chance.

I imagine if your levels have risen when you next have them tested then they’ll arrange for a scan anyway.

I can't say if you're pregnant again but I do know that having sex before the bleeding/spotting has fully stopped carries a real risk of infection for you.

2 possibilities- first is that this is a new pregnancy.

Second, that the miscarriage didn't complete successfully and you still have retained product, if do you'll need a D&C to remove it all and prevent risk of infection.
