Hi everyone
I discovered the other day I'm pregnant, now about 5 weeks along. Im happy about it. I've been with the guy for about 1.5 years and he has a nearly 3 yr old from a previous relationship.
When I told him about the pregnancy his automatic reaction was to ask me my thoughts on abortion. He says he is very stressed as dealing with money issues in court with his ex and his son and it would be a disaster for us to have a baby now. He wants a more "solid" relationship with me before children. I guess we haven't been in each others pockets and its been a slowly but surely kind of thing.
I will add he is an amazing dad and pays above and beyond for his son in money and time.
This was unplanned and I'm pro-choice of course and had an abortion about 4 years ago with a long term ex partner, it was the right choice at the time.
I've always said if it happens again, I wont have an abortion. I'm now 38. He says we can look to have a baby in a year to 18 months. I have tried to tell them there are no guarantees and I might not be able to get pregnant then and that you cant just necessarily pick a month and say ok I'll get pregnant now, especially at my age!
I've never thought I must have children but like the thought of being a mum and I'm happy but feel very clouded by his opinion and hormones I guess!
I'm going for counselling next week to just impartially talk about how I feel.
I just think I needed to put it out there. I just feel very conflicted. I have to come to terms that I will probably do this alone.
I truly feel for anyone who has gone through this, you are all super women
