Success stories? Measuring behind and low heartbeat at 7 week scan

I just had my first pregnancy scan this morning (following successful IVF). I am currently 7w2d pregnant and I know that date is accurate as it was a frozen embryo transfer.

My IVF nurse seemed very concerned as she said the baby is measuring a week behind and she thought the heartbeat looked quite low. She suggested we prepare ourselves for the worst.

She referred me to the early pregnancy unit at my local hospital who confirmed that the baby was very small, although they didn’t seem to have a problem with the heart rate. They said they couldn’t deem it a miscarriage just yet, and want to give it another week to see if things pick up a bit. But they didn’t seem too hopeful.

I am shocked that today’s scan didn’t go well as I just ‘felt’ like everything was progressing ok (horrid morning sickness etc!) oh well.

My question is two-fold: 1) anyone been in a similar situation who can encourage me with a success story? 2) was there anything you did that helped? (My IVF doc said I could try taking baby aspirin, did anyone get any other advice that turned out well?)

Thank you so much in advance for your comments. Xx

I had a scan when I thought I was 7+1, but was measuring almost a week behind. I was terrified, especially since I'd had a previous miscarriage, but I had another scan ten days later which showed bean had DOUBLED in size, was now measuring a day ahead, and had a good strong heartrate of 165. Even saw them wiggling around on the screen ❤

I'm now 9 weeks pregnant and everything is going well. At this early stage scans can be inaccurate with dating so it's not unusual to measure a few days behind. However, this pregnancy was conceived naturally, so I don't know when I actually ovulated or conceived.

I understand your worry. I have everything crossed for you Flowers

Sorry I can’t give any advice but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! 🤞
