I'm 16 days pp after c section. How long did you leave it before having a bath? I'm desperate for one. No pain in incision and seems to be healing very well. Would it be ok to take one today?

I was told to bath or shower everyday by the hospital but not to use any shower gel etc. I think I had a bath on day 5.

@Greenwomenofmay thank you. I have been showering but they didn't mention anything about baths. I am still bleeding a bit so didn't know if you have to wait till you completly stop so your cervix is closed. I don't know how much longer i can wait for one lol

I had one the next day! Never had any problems.

I wouldn't have a big, long soak. Just a functional one. Make sure someone is around incase you struggle to get out.

Go for it! I was told that the only reason not to have a bath after a c section was due to dissolvable stitches... you can still have a bath post c section but to keep it to around 10 minutes. But they told me by day 14, your stitches will have dissolved anyway so you can have a long bath! Enjoy! That first bath post c section was lovely!

I remember my first bath which must have been 5 or 6 days after my cs. My husband ran it for me and added camomile and lavender essential oils which I'd never used before - need actually read up on what would be nice and went out and bought them. He took the baby, who had been attached to me for several days, and it was heavenly. If I ever smell that combo of oils now, years later, it takes me back to that happy but slightly troubled time Smile
