that's what i need

i mean i have the figure of a middle-aged stockbroker right now (mahoosive belly, no waist), so why not take their lead in the trouser-holding-up department?

ok, maybe they wouldn't look great, but, right now, i'd wear em

FFS, i can't even string a sentence together.

thast also ds4s fault...he nearly made me wear dungers and has also rendered me brain dead.

BikeBug · 01/06/2007 14:52

Ha! Once my maternity combats wouldn't stay up any more I wore dh's braces (ancient Patagonia ones that must have come with something outdoorsy once, tho who knows what...), and in the final few weeks I wore my lovely Bloomin' Marvellous maternity dungarees to death. They were the ONLY thing that fitted. Style died in my house the day I got pg...

I wish I'd found those belly ups before now....38+5 and booked in for an elective on Tuesday....as I've spent what seems like the whole of my bloody pregnancy pulling up my trousers (been in maternity trousers since 14 weeks)

I don't remember any of my maternity trousers doing this when I had DS 5 years ago, but styles seem to have changed...back then it was all jersey panels and adjustable elastic sides, none of this under bump nonsense that just doesn't stay put!

bumperlicious · 01/06/2007 14:54

Well, I've book marked the site and will see how it goes. I don't think I'm worried so much about wopping my baps out, just don't want people seeing my stomach looking like a deflated marshmallow! But I do have a couple of bump bands and hadn't thought about still using those - good tip fruitful!

Tutter · 01/06/2007 15:02

lol at lth and her having touble with her worms (words) as my dad would say

dungarees i just cannot do, pregnant or not

yup, these under bump trousers just don't cut the mustard - the ones i have on now wouldn't stay up at all without a bump band

you all need sensible maternity dresses

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 01/06/2007 15:24

I'm sure my LO will come out with the imprint of my belt buckle on her forehead!!!!

A belt is the only way I can get the blardy things to stay up...well it was until the last few weeks when it was too uncomfortable!

rhubarb90 · 04/06/2007 16:39

I bought a pair of maternity jeans last week, they seemed to fit okay in the shop but as soon as I tried to wear them for longer than 2 minutes they started to fall down. I'm very annoyed with them. I tried to wear a belt but the damn thing won't fit all the way around me anymore! The braces idea is quite tempting, even taking into account how silly I'd feel

wheniamqueen · 04/06/2007 16:51

to avoid so much hoiking if im not going out or expecting visiters i wear night gown, comfortable, cool and no hoiking!

colditz · 04/06/2007 16:53

You know, I considered that very very strongly. they wouldn't have to be maternity, just normal ones, they are cheap enough, don't need to be washer, you can wear them uder your top...

What's not to like?

EmilyandLola · 04/06/2007 20:31

I wore my father in laws braces from about 7 months onwards, with pre preg genes and a bump belt... worked, and comfy

although looking back, I was so huge, I dont think it would matter if I went out wearing a marquee.
