16 week midwife appointment

Thinking of skipping it. I haven't made it yet (currently 14 weeks) and need to book it in with the midwife at the GP surgery. She only does a 2 hr slot on a Friday and it has to be her, not the antenatal clinic my others are at.

She'll dip my urine, do my blood pressure and possibly listen for a heartbeat, none of which I'm fussed about. I also have a consultant appointment the day before where they'll do my blood pressure.

This is DC2 by the way, which is why I'm pretty relaxed about it.

It was a pointless appointment last time so I really don't see the point this time.

Unless anyone else has a view point?

I was told if saw the consultant the same week, then the midwife appt wasn't needed.

Also been told I don’t need to see midwife at 16 weeks if I have a consultant appointment around the same time - the consultant will do the same checks probably.

Thanks. I won't bother then.

I had 16 week appointment with consultant not midwife and then had a 20 week appointment with midwife and will see her next at 24 weeks

I ended up having two 16 week appointments because I was called in for an emergency scan the day I had booked my CMW appointment for.

I went to both but CMW said that if it happens again, I should just text her to let her know why I won’t be scheduling that appointment (so it doesn’t get put down as missed I guess)
