I had a scan on wed after having cronic pains.. went to a&e and they were excellent.. we saw the yolk sac and it was in the right place there was a white spec on the image but the nurse advsied that it was too early to see a heartbeat.. is she fobbing me off? My next scan is not on June 11th and I will be 7 + 3 days what should I see then???

Yes too early. I had a scan at 7 weeks and had an internal scan to see hertbeat as it did not show on normal one.

phewy I thought she was fobbing me off.. worried slightly.. I have to say I am the happiest person in th eowrld knowing the little yolk is in the right place!!!!

I had to have an internal scan at 5+2 or 3 to find a very faint (as in they kept losing it) heartbeat, they couldn't even find the yolk sac with an abdominal scan.

Internal scans are horrible though!

DrNortherner · 01/06/2007 11:51

You should see a heart beat at your next scan, if not, do ask for an internal one. Not pleasant but will put your mind at rest.

Have the cramps stopped?

FWIW I sufferred terrible cramping with my ds, he is now a lively 5 yr old

I had a scan at 6 weeks and just saw the yolk sac too -no heartbeat. It's too early. Now 39 weeks pregnant...all fine and normal.

Congratulations BTW!

beckmo · 01/06/2007 11:53

Oh -mine was internal BTW. An abdo one wouldn't have shown anything apparantly.

Thnaks everyone feel a bit better now.. no cramps now.. they were so cronic I nearly passed out but they found free fluid from a cyst that burst so that exaplins why I had so much painadn then nothing now! I am sooo excited, it is hard to contain myself!
