HI, I'm hoping that someone can offer me some advice, I am 6 nearly 7 weeks pregnant with my first so completely naive to everything and started to panic..

This morning on going to the toilet I had some very light blood when wiping, almost within a mucus for want of a better. But this has now developed over the last couple of hours to bright red blood but still only when wiping. I am also experiencing stomach cramps but have been experiencing these since before my missed period.

I have put on a sanitary pad to be able to monitor it further but so far it has only been when wiping and none in my underwear.

I have tried to phone NHS direct/111 for advice but am 4-hours away with work, I am setting off shortly to travel back home and will continue to try calling them for advice.

Just starting to worry me slightly that I may be miscarrying.

Hi. I had this, ( please don't take this as this is what you're having ) but I'm currently miscarrying. I noticed brown discharge small amount when I wiped and then it got worse with period like cramps and redder blood. Please speak to someone. I was told to go straight to a and e if I was bleeding red and bad pain. They can always do an early ultra sound etc. Some women do bleed throughout their pregnancy or at the start but do get this checked. X

Best place to call is the early pregnancy unit at your local maternity hospital. Some need a GP referral, others don’t and you can just contact them directly. They can give you advice and bring you in for a scan.

It’s really hard to tell with bleeding like this. Some miscarriages do start this way, but also lots of women get this in healthy pregnancies too. It’s not fun, sorry you’re going through it Flowers

This happened to me. I think you need to go to the hospital. Sorry you are going through this x

Flowers so sorry you're going through this, I had this when pregnant with dc1 and everything turned out fine. As pp's have said, try get seen ASAP, bleeding in early pregnancy can be quite normal apparently but obviously they need to rule out anything more serious. Fingers crossed all is OK for you

I'm in exactly the same position, fingers crossed for you OP. I called EPU, my local one doesn't take self referrals so have to wait to get a docs appointment first. Will wait and see if I'm still bleeding tomorrow.

Charlotte1x · 02/08/2018 18:35

My fingers are crossed for you OP, get yourself to hospital. Hopefully it’s nothing, many women bleed early on and go on to have successful pregnancies. X

Hi Thanks everyone, I have finally got home and can check properly and have had about a size of a 10p worth of bleeding on the pad now since about 1pm, I am still having cramps and have rung my local EPU, the sister was very nice and helpful and told me to keep monitoring things much like @iamkahleesi as they don't take self referrals but said if it gets worse go to a&e, so fingers crossed it stops and all is well.

Thanks again Smile

I've had this with both of my pregnancies. Unfortunately the first time around I ended up miscarrying, but with my second pregnancy a scan revealed a healthy bean. The bleeding stoped after a day or two, and I had another scan today which revealed a healthy bean with a strong heartbeat, wriggling around and waving at us ❤

Good luck! I have everything crossed for you.

doodles1234 · 02/08/2018 21:22

Thanks, it seems to have stopped now but still have cramps so off to bed to relax x

Bleeding is heavier today, GP has referred me to EPU just waiting for them to call to book in a scan. Not looking good.

Hi OP, I just wanted to say you've been on my mind a lot today. Take care of yourself. x

I had this with my current pregnancy and my little ones are doing okay. I had relatively heavy bleeding at 6 weeks, thought the worst because i’d Had a miscarriage before. GP sent me for an early pregnancy scan 4 days later and found out it was twins and something to do with that was causing me to bleed. Then had exactly what you described with there only being blood when you wiped (until you monitored it with a pad) at 20 weeks, again i thought the worst, but had a kidney infection.

Hope you’re doing well! ❤️
