Mucus plug gone

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and I've woke up to a show (mucus plug loss) and severe cramps this morning but not contractions... cramps are just getting worse...

Maternity assessment unit said it's normal and to wait until later today as I have an appointment at the hospital to have a CTG anyway, does anyone know if this is a sign of labour???

In my experience with both my labours as soon as my plug came away I went straight into labour and had my 1st within 3 hours and 2nd within 15 minutes .. if the pains get worse just go hospital! .. Every one is different though! Good luck x

My labour started a few days after losing my plug.

My labours always start within a couple of hours of losing my mucus plug. Ive had 3 babies.

But my friend lost her mucus plug last week and is still waiting for labour to start so i guess everyone is different.

I think it’s impossible to say. With my second I lost my plug at 38w and she was born a week later.

Been losing mine for two weeks but not with any cramps. If the cramps get worse and paracetamol does t even touch it, just go in but you will probably be fine until your appointment this afternoon. They'll more than likely do an examination to see if youre dilating/how much.

Good luck 😁
