Just looking for those who have had this and what happened. Obviously a good chance for it to move before birth. It's currently completely covering the birth canal.

Any insight would be great for what to expect.

I’ve had this in 2 out of 3 pregnancies, with DC2 i had a scan at 32(?) weeks which showed it had moved up, this time it has moved but not enough to have a natural delivery. However, I had an ELCS with DC2 for other reasons, and was always the plan to have one this time too.

That’s a Grade 4. I have had a Grade 1 and a Grade 4. Be a bit careful. Don’t do heavy lifting or anything that might cause involuntary contractions (spicy food, getting dehydrated etc). I had a Grade 4 PP that resulted in repeated bleeds from 20 weeks and resulted in a v premature birth. (Baby is fine now). My Grade 1 PP resulted in a calm and standard C section.
The gynaecologist told me that some placentas bleed and some don’t but Grade 4 PPs tend to move less and also the risk of bleeding after 32 weeks is a bit higher. If you want more information feel free to PM me.

I had this with DD. It had completely moved at my 36 week scan and I had a vaginal birth. Mine was also totally covering the cervix.

Thanks ladies. Good to see a bit of both. Good and bad. So I know what I can possibly expect. Hopefully my little boy can kick it out the way in time. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
