Yippee, sounds promising. Sorry, I've been wandering in and out all evening. The John Wayne walk isn't entirely reliable, I was walking like him at about 30 weeks with dd, however maybe in your case it is. Oh I hope so, that would pee on their inducing bonfires.

mears · 31/05/2007 21:39

here is some information on induction

I get sick and tired of women being 'forced' into induction at 42 weeks. nature is not completely stupid and placenats do not pack in at 42 weeks. I think closer monitoring after 42 weeks is sensible, however pregnancies can go on longer with no problems at all.

Refuse to be induced if there is no real clinical indication. Your body, your baby.

Sex, sex ,sex is unfortunately the way to go

My3Girls · 31/05/2007 21:48

It must just be some consultants, as the lady I had last time was fine with it as long as I accepted monitoring but this DR today just wound me up.

I am due to start with the continued daily mointoring on the 9th June. So if they tell me all is well, I will stick to my first plan and tell them I won't be induced.

So glad you peeps are here xxx

i think i had more sex, the last month of my pregnancy with DD, than i did the whole rest of my marriage up until that point !

see, i practice what i preach !

and she arrived on her due date, clever girl !

lulumama · 31/05/2007 21:51

eeek ! did i really just say that out loud ! [grin[

mears · 31/05/2007 21:53

you choose not to be induced at this stage then from 42 weeks you should be offered: Twice weekly checks of your baby's heartbeat using a piece of equipment called an electronic fetal heart rate monitor. A single ultrasound test to check the depth of amniotic fluid (or "waters") surrounding your baby. this is the NICE guidance i posted earlier. You do not need daily monitoring!

My3Girls · 31/05/2007 21:54

"that would pee on their inducing bonfires."

Oh my Seamonster walking like this for that long, eek!! I can't remember this feeling with the girls but probably because it was years ago now and I was abit more flexible then It feels like theres a big medicine ball between my legs.

mears · 31/05/2007 21:56

seamonster · 31/05/2007 21:57

lulumama · 31/05/2007 21:57

lulumama · 31/05/2007 21:58

seamonster !! really !

mears · 31/05/2007 21:58

All you need is an orgasm and some sperm. Turkey baster and rabbit anyone?

My3Girls · 31/05/2007 22:02

Lulu

Mears the links not working hun. These consultants really are acting quite overly causious (sp?) The "nice lady consultant" wanted me in daily for monitoring. Glad you mentioned that Mears

I got the turkey baster thing, but a rabbit? Surely that's unhygenic.
