This made me laugh, am the only one who finds this just plain weird. I mean when else would you touch someone else on their tummy?

Because they're twats. I cover my bump with waterfall cardis now so there's no access. the 'your huge' comments to my face are far more upsetting 😔

PersisFord · 31/07/2018 17:49

I love touching bumps and I loved people touching mine. To me it feels like greeting the baby. I always ask though!

Cherubfish · 31/07/2018 17:51

Ah there's nothing like touching a bump and feeling the real life baby underneath! I do always ask though.

zippey · 31/07/2018 17:52

It’s because that’s where the baby is. It’s like they are touching the baby.

Galaxyteal · 31/07/2018 17:53

I hated it, some of my work colleagues would put both hands on my bump then put there face next to it and talk. Err no thank you. If someone was to ask that’s different.

SpectacularAardvark · 31/07/2018 17:57

I wasn't keen on the random touching but it was ok if people asked. I definitely didn't mind all the "You're huge!" comments, I waited years to be huge and pregnant and was very pleased!! Grin

I imagine it's not so great if you have mixed feelings about the baby though, people should stop treating women's pregnancies as public property.

SoloD · 31/07/2018 18:10

It's fine if you ask but some people don't and it just creeps me out. I suppose some people are different and I actually rather like @PersisFord point about greeting the baby.

I suppose I am not as tactile as others.

It seems so intrusive and weird. Even if I was asked I’d feel hesitant. You wouldn’t do it to anyone else.

surreygirl1987 · 31/07/2018 19:26

I find it weird and kind of creepy. I mind less if it's a very close friend and they ask first (or my OH obviously) but I have some colleagues who swarm towards my bump... I don't even know them that well so no I don't want them touching me!!

MuddyElephant · 31/07/2018 19:42

My friend used to deal with this by casually touching their stomach back during the conversation. People soon stopped!

Scrolblewomp · 31/07/2018 20:44

Never had a problem with it, I give off an air of 'I will fuck you up if you touch me' so that tends to sort it 😎

Panda368 · 31/07/2018 21:06

Hate it. Hate it so much. Boyfriends mother has done it to me twice now and I just feel too awkward to say n, though I have asked him to mention casually that I don’t like it. She would probs be mortified to know how much I hate it.

Makes me feel like some kind of walking fish tank. Anyone outside of me or Boyfriend touching the belly would end up with broken fingers if I had my way.

Gwenhwyfar · 31/07/2018 21:11

I did it the other day, it happened before I could stop myself. I know it's rude, but it honestly just happened.

Theweasleytwins · 31/07/2018 21:13

I let mil feel baby kick, she had her hands on my bump way too long😑

Previous pregnancy a customer put her hand on my bump and asked if my twins were natural. Would have told her to fuck off if I wasn't in work😑

If any randoms try I'll put my hand in their tummy

PersisFord · 31/07/2018 21:21

It is the BEST if the baby kicks your hand. Such a lovely feeling. Like it is greeting you back!!
