Growth scan??

Hello,
Had a midwife appointment Monday at 31 weeks, but I was measuring 35cm- so 4 weeks ahead! It was the second time I was measured, the first I measured one week ahead. I have been referred for a growth scan tomorrow and I am really nervous! What can I expect, will I have my scan and then just go or will I have to see a doctor afterwards? Has this happened to anyone before, and what was the reason for measuring ahead?
Thank you 😊

Hi, I’ve been measuring behind, because my bump measured too small. (3 weeks too small) However at the growth scan they just measure the main parts of the baby’s body. My baby measured perfectly on track every time I went in, so it’s just my body (my bump) that is just small.
For some people the bump can be bigger or smaller than others and sometimes that does depend on the size of the baby being an issue but most of the time it’s not the baby and just your body. I wouldn’t worry! You will have a scan like normal and dependent on results, if all okay will be sent home like normal. Unusual results would usually result In a midwife or doctor talking to you about it further.

Hi I was measuring '3 weeks ahead' at 28 weeks (by tape measure) so also had a growth scan and measured within normal range. I think the midwife measured the big lunch I had beforehand! I was worried I was growing a giant baby but all good :)
Growth scan was just like a normal scan but nice to visit the MLU.
Good luck!

I had a growth scan yesterday and baby weighing 5lbs at 32 weeks which is 34 weeks size so I might have gestational diabetes or be further on than I think as I don’t have big babies my previous 3 were all 6lbers

Hi I was measuring ahead had a growth can and saw a consultant afterwards who said baby was big for her age and clearly liked carbs. Said she was the same with hers and to expect her to be 9ibs. She was actually 8.8 no complications. Consultant said I could deliver normally but baby was breech in the end so had to have CS but all fine I just had to lay off the sandwiches. Good luck
