Pretty much as above really. Watermelon has been sitting on the side whilst we are on holiday in Cornwall as can’t fit it in the fridge and after having some I now feel dreadful and have really bad tummy, loosing a a lot of fluid. I’ll be fine but I’m worried about risk to the baby if it is something nasty like listeria etc etc.

Any advice? Bleurghh.
Missing beach time with my toddler whilst DH holds fort :(

I’ve literally never put a watermelon in the fridge in my life. I doubt it’s that which has made you ill unlesss it’s been sat cut up and uncovered for days?

I had food poisoning at about 30 weeks and I remember the midwife telling me that the baby was protected, and would be safe.
Hope you are better soon.

Isn’t a watermelon mainly, well, water? You’re not going to get listeria from a water melon.

listeria from a water melon. Is that even possible?

I think you are overthinking things - watermelon isn't going to give you listeria unless someone with listeria has handled it
Don't take my word for it here is the nhs page on the subject www.nhs.uk/conditions/listeriosis/
I suspect you just have some pregnancy queasiness, I randomly got it throughout pregnancy, hormones made me feel shit more often than not and played havoc with my hormones (pregnancy glow my arse!) - if you start to feel properly unwell or have other symptoms you may want to get checked out but I doubt it has anything to do with the watermelon
