Help! - One positive - one negative - one not clear

Hi,
I need some help with some home pregnancy tests I have taken over the past 12 hours.
To give context, I am on the pill and my period isn't always on time (I can go up to 6-8 weeks without a period, as I take me pill continuously).
The past few weeks however, my boobs have gotten bigger and are tender all the time, I have been feeling hungrier/more tired than usual too.
I decided to take a boots pregnancy test yesterday to just check. I sat beside the test as it developed and a faint second line appeared! it was clear there was another line, my husband said he saw it clearly too and 30 minuets later it was still visible. HOWEVER, 1.30 hours later the second line had disappeared!
So I decided to do another boots test 1.30 hours after the first one and it came out straight up negative.
SO I finally decided to get a clearblue test (that has a + or - result with a control window). I sat and watched this one for 10 minuets as well and nothing happened. The negative line was there BUT the control window remained completely blank.

BASICALLY I need your help please! I'm so confused on what next step to take.... As I am usually on the pill, i have decided not to take it today... Should I not take the pill for the week and take another test? Or am I completely negative?

Thank you!

I think what I would do is buy a few cheapy tests (think Poundland) and try them with my first wee of the day for a couple of days.

If nothing conclusive from them, I'd make an appointment with my women's health nurse.

I don't think there's evidence taking the pill will harm a pregnancy but I'd stop taking it and use other methods of protection whilst I'm waiting for the outcome.

Thanks for you advice FlippertyJibbit :)

I assume as you were on the pill you weren't planning on falling pregnant? How would you feel if it was positive?

HettyBug · 31/07/2018 10:10

I was not planning on falling pregnant no.... But my god I would be over the moon if I was! I think that's why I'm struggling to know what to do next... I'm so scared of getting a negative result.

Nip to home bargains or B&M and grab some cheap tests - ignore Clear Blue as they need a higher hormone level to test and can be notorious for being wrong etc.

Test only with first pee in morning and date them - after a week if tests are positive or negative and still symptoms are there then nip to nurse or FPU and speak to them.

If you DO get several positive tests then buy a First response Early pregnancy test and Mark it with date and speak to nurse.

Ignore the clear blue as if the control line is blank that means the test is faulty.

Agree with others - take a few tests first thing over next few days. Get a pink dye test as they seem to be more reliable.

I’m pregnant now and only has a positive test a week after my period was due - the first test was very faint, second negative and then the next one was faint again.

How would you feel if you were pregnant?

HettyBug · 31/07/2018 10:24

Thanks @Mavydoes and @Nightmanagerfan

I will get some more tests today (I will go to boots and get a few).

I would be over the moon if I was pregnant... obviously it would be unexpected, but a dream come true.

I never knew these feelings of nerves even existed! One faint positive test has head my head spinning. I have a kind of crappy photo of the faint second line test.... I will post

HettyBug · 31/07/2018 10:35

Ok, I can't add photos. oh well.

Hey! I had a really similar thing and basically, long story short, it was just too early to test... in one day I got 2 positives and 2 negatives.

I went to the pharmacy and she said to wait two more days for hormones to double and do it again! I did that and then did a test every morning for 3 days and all positive - I am now 10weeks.

Good luck Smile

HettyBug · 31/07/2018 15:12

@ells20 - thanks for commenting :) - can i just ask, did you also have a test show as positive and the disappear?

ells20 · 31/07/2018 15:17

@HettyBug no worries! I googled so much about this when it happened to me so I understand haha. Smile

I actually only used the digital ones just to be really clear - I've found them easier and my pharmacist said they were a bit better (not sure how true that is though) so may be worth getting one and doing in a couple of days?!

HettyBug · 31/07/2018 15:55

I have 4x new test to take at the end of the week.

Thanks again everyone! :)

ells20 · 31/07/2018 16:09

@HettyBug good luck - let us know how you get on Smile
