1st scan tomorrow EEEE

So ive got my first scan tomorrow!! The emotions going through my right now are crazy!

Im excited, nervous, happy and all of the above

My question is... how full does my bladder need to be? Like to the point of bursting or just slightly full or like just to the point i know i need a wee but can hold it type feeling....

I know im thinking too much into it! But ill be at work up until my apppointment and dont want to hold it for too long you know?

The first scan is so exciting! I drank about half a litre of water while I was in the waiting room and the sonographer found the baby straight away. I think it just depends on you and how much you can drink without being bursting to go!

Did your letter not give you any guidance? For my 12-week scan I was specifically told I didn't need a full bladder, so check any documentation you've been sent. Mine told me just to drink a small glass of water 30 mins beforehand.

In contrast, my early scan asked for a full bladder. Remember there will be a lot of pressure in that area so don't be so full that it's painful.

Is this your 12 week NHS scan or a private early scan? You must be so excited

I have a private scan booked for Saturday when I'll be 8+3, really nervous about it.

My 12 week scan instructions said I had to have drank 800ml of water an hour before scan time and I was absolutely bursting. A lot of trusts seem to do it differently though (I’ve heard of some which say empty bladder and became instantly jealous!) so I’d just reread your instructions to find out, or you could always give them a call in the morning.

I havent gotten my letter yet, i was getting anxious waiting because of how far along I am and rang the antenatal dept and she did it on the phone for me and just said I needed a full bladder :/

Itll be my 12 week scan but im about 13 weeks now so a bit late
