Not sure if I'm posting in the right place etc but I'm after some advice really, found out last week that I'm pregnant took 6 tests to be sure Grin now I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy 4 years ago so naturally I'm a nervous wreck, I have booked into see my GP on Friday can I request my hcg levels get checked or an early scan just to check things are moving in the right direction and reasure myself as last time I wasn't given any tests or information started bleeding at 8 weeks and the pregnancy wasn't viable but even with that I was just sent on my way to kind of get on with it any information or advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi! Congratulations. Just wanted to say congratulations on your news. I know how nerve wracking it can be after a loss. I had to pay for a reassurance scan that I wanted as they are not routinely offered in my area. I saw midwife at 10 weeks who did bloods and booked the scan.
I have 2 children now, and was anxious both times, but for different reasons. Was there any specific advice/questions you had? I'd be happy to share my experiences, I feel very lucky to have two healthy beautiful children after a MCs x

You’re very unlikely to receive an early scan after 1 mc, same with your hcg levels, but you can book them in privately if that’ll put your mind at ease. I’m sorry for your loss, I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy once your anxieties have been settled, congratulations!

Thank you I was looking into booking a private scan but without really being sure on how many weeks due to what I thought were two periods in the space of two weeks which probably wernt looking back I wouldn't want to go too early and disappoint or stress myself further I guess I'll just have to be patient, what generally happens after you tell the GP wait until 12 week mark and get invited for a scan or what happens in the meantime if anything test wise, felt pretty let down and confused last time I suppose I was pretty clueless at 21, not much better at 25 Grin
