Morning sickness isn’t always a good sign

I just wanted to share my experience to help others. I suffered from bad morning sickness for two months. Lots of advice given is that it’s a good sign in pregnancy. Well I went for my 12 week scan and discovered I’d had a silent miscarriage. Where your body continues to think it’s pregnant even though the baby hasn’t survived. The shock and upset was made a lot worse due to all the articles and advice from people (including my GP) telling me it was a good thing to have morning sickness. Please don’t be fooled into the same assurance I was.

Also if are feeling unwell there are tablets which can really help. Don’t suffer and get help.

So sorry for your loss Flowers I’m the same - had bad sickness with two missed miscarriages as well as with one healthy pregnancy. For some of us it seems to be just how our bodies respond to being pregnant, whether or not the pregnancy’s viable.

Had similar too. Morning sickness continued even thou missed miscarriage 3 weeks previous. Sorry for your loss

Me too, generally it is a good sign but certainly doesn't guarantee anything. Sorry for your loss Thanks

I had this and sickness continued for 2 weeks after erpc, it was hideous

CobaltRose · 29/07/2018 21:55

I had exactly the same. Missed miscarriage discovered at 12 weeks despite continuing to get nausea.

However, I'm now eight weeks pregnant again and the nausea is WAY worse, and an early scan this week revealed a healthy baby with a heartbeat ❤

Sorry for everyone's losses.

WLAH · 30/07/2018 02:19

Cobaltrose congrats. Likewise my sickness much worse on healthy pregnancy

So sorry for your loss - I agree about morning sickness not necessarily being reassuring. I had 3 miscarriages in a row and had morning sickness with all of them. Have gone on to have 3 healthy children and had no morning sickness at all. Sending you positive thoughts.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, thank you for spreading the word. Flowers
