For me, when I say
'I feel huge'
and the reply with
'oh but you don't look pregnant from behind'

Like seriously??? Why would I look pregnant from behind 🙈 it's not as if the baby is growing out of my ass or spine 😂

I've already been asked a few times if we'll be having any more! Errr still not had our first yet so let's wait and see....

‘Take care in this heat’ - why do people say this? It always sounds patronising: I’m taking excellent care of myself and baby TYVM! Currently in Spain, and the messages I’m getting to ‘ooh take care in the heat’ - what do they think I’m doing? Weight-lifting in the midday sun with no sun cream whilst sipping a Sangria?!

I already have two boys. Almost every person I have told about this pregnancy (apart from my Mum and two friends) has said some version of "so, are you hoping for a girl this time?" or "can you try and give us a girl this time?" (that was MIL). I am having a baby and they will be beautiful either way, I honestly don't care if I have three boys, or two boys and a girl, but apparently the world does Hmm

My husband's family is very superstitious so stuff like don't eat cold or spicy food or she'll come out with a cold, eat slimy foods so she slips out easily etc... also my friends at home saying they wish they could be here to touch my bump - just no, no, noooo

Hjkillas · 02/08/2018 18:09

@splendidsqueak7 oh god that made me chuckle!!

In this heat I get so many pity looks or 'you didn't time this well' excuse me I was on fertility treatment and didn't think I would get pregnant again so the timing is perfect THANKS. 🖕

@Mexie haha slimy foods so she slips out easy 🤣🤣

Looks like I need to go and eat the slimiest foods I can find! Haha I've never heard something so funny!

I've had a random woman in the supermarket touch my bump.. Thankfully it was near the exit where the security guard was and as I went to remove her hand from my bump the lovely security guard came and asked if I was OK... Everyone else who has wanted to touch my bump have been friends or family, and have always asked if they can touch the bump.. My standard response is 'I like you, so yes you can touch the bump'.. But I do have another friend who can't stand anyone even asking to touch her bump, so it's a very personal thing..

I've also had the following joyous questions..
1)Was it planned? (very much so, not that it's actually any of your business...)
2) How did that happen? (err, the usual way?!)
3) do you think your hips have got bigger since you've been pregnant?... (well I didn't.. Until you said that...)
4) How much weight have you put on since you've been pregnant... (erm, not even my midwife has asked me that, so I'm sure as hell not disclosing it to you..)
5) on telling someone I was expecting...'and is this a good thing, or a bad thing?'..
6) you must be lying when you say you don't mind of you have a boy or a girl...ALL mums want a little girl...
.. And my personal favourite
7) don't leave it too long after you've had this one before you have your second... (just let me get this one out first before you start harrasing me about a hypothetical second child..)

People - how are you feeling?

Me - dead on getting there

Could scream at them - fat sweaty tired worried, piles are killing me, cant take a proper poo and when I do they are like logs, I spent the morning vomiting and trying to entertain my dd3. Ahhhh

Smile and change topic 😂

Generally people assuming they’re more informed about something me makes me fume. If I get one more friend/relative sending me a link to the news article they’ve seen about the heatwave in the West of Spain (as it happens, I’m in the South of Spain. It’s hot. No Sugar Sherlock) I will send them all a picture of me pretending to knock back a bottle of cava. I know people say these things kindly, but it makes me feel judged.
