Just eaten whole pack of fizzy laces

Am 32+6 and ashamed to say I have literally just chomped my way through a whole pack of fizzy strawberry laces (100g). I could not stop, one after the other.

My diet generally isn’t great but this is bad.

Eating a bowl of strawberries (no sugar or cream) as penance (love strawbs though)

I was on the Haribo like crazy in the first trimester. I think the sugar was the only thing giving me energy! Generally eating quite healthily, although I did have a big fat McDonald’s for lunch. Shameful.

Sour maoam stripes are my crack. I go to Lidl’s purposely to buy their big Mao mix packs and sit on our bed and scoff them. Hubby hasn’t found the ‘wrappers of shame’ under my side of the bed yet Blush

In my first trimester I was ordering big tubs of Haribo Tangfastics and Fizzy Peaches off Amazon Prime, now at 27 weeks I've stopped craving sugar and it's all about the salt.
The other night I drove to Sainsbury's at 9pm just to buy a big bag of salt and vinegar twirls. Right now I can't concentrate on the TV show I'm watching because I know we have pringles in the cupboard and they're calling to me!

I regularly eat a whole packet of fizzy strawberry laces when not pregnant. In fact, I can't open a packet and not eat the whole lot.

Now I am pregnant I am keener on Haribo Starmix.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Gem173 · 29/07/2018 21:51

I’m 35+4 and have eaten sweets or chocolate every day. Some fizzy some aren’t. Have had a few McDonald’s and dominoes and fish and chips. Every time I’ve had a scan or growth scan baby is always fine and growing the way he should be! For tea I have my normal food like chicken or fish and as long as I have fruit and veg throughout the day, I never feel guilty!
I eat a lot of sugar and so far hasn’t caused any problems. This is my first baby. I wouldn’t worry about it :)
I just know il have a hyper child when he’s here! Haha

Hjkillas · 29/07/2018 22:41

I've eaten subway 4 times this week... Even went back for a bowl of meatballs because I wasn't satisfied 🐖🤷

dingdongdigeridoo · 29/07/2018 23:53

Instagram knows that I’m pregnant. Or a pig. I keep getting adverts for companies that deliver homemade fudge and brownies. Not going to lie, I’m tempted to spend £20 on fudge and not share it with anyone.

ladycarlotta · 30/07/2018 09:46

First trimester (9 weeks) so I am really off a lot of food, but this pregnancy has opened my eyes to the joys of Tangfastics, which I never ever would have bought before. I see it as necessary energy for me and baby. It's the responsible thing to do.

amilosingitor · 30/07/2018 09:55

I was obsessed with these during my first pregnancy (but they HAD to be from Asda) I would eat them everyday and probably more than one packet so that should make you feel better (and my son doesn't like sweets and never has so go figure!!

I bought £9 worth of pick and mix the other day which I do at least once a week now Blush

orphanblack1 · 30/07/2018 10:22

OMG keep it coming ladies - I don’t feel alone now!!! Just been signed off for a week by physio so more temptation as home and bored!!!

I love the idea of fudge delivered to your door and agree why should you share! In fact, off to look at ordering some myself!

omg I want to order fudge from the internet. Maybe I'll set up a subscription to one of those brownies-in-the-post sites.

Fluffybat · 30/07/2018 10:34

I wish I had 'cravings.' I fancy things, eat them then move on. I did eat s while box of thortons chocolates over two days last week though....

INeedNewShoes · 30/07/2018 12:47

My weirdest pregnancy craving, but it only happened once, was red pepper. I ate an entire large red pepper in about 2 minutes. I assume I was vitamin C deficient or something!

orphanblack1 · 30/07/2018 13:24

That’s def a weird craving! I do find myself wanting Diet Coke a fair bit which obv has no nutritional value!

But yeah, a bit like one of the PP’s I find myself wanting something then eating it and moving on!

But fudge is definitely one I could go back to lots!!!

I crave sour sweets like tangfastics, but they make me so ill, and they're possibly the worst food ever to bring back up!

Switched to jelly babies instead, and particularly the lemon ones!

SirHubzALot · 30/07/2018 22:35

Fruit gums are taking over my life. Just finished a family size bag to myself.

orphanblack1 · 31/07/2018 11:41

Sports mix are excellent too.

DP brought me home salted caramel fudge but at £4 a pack (small) I have to not get addicted. Just had a time out (single) and reckon I might nip out later for a basketfull of treats.

Being signed off is bloody boring!

daphine2004 · 31/07/2018 20:23

Ha! I would just go to the supermarket cooked meat counter and buy a chicken or a five pack of legs if I was feeling civilised. HUGE craving for protein 🤣🤣🤣

LeighaJ · 31/07/2018 22:23

I loved loved loved chocolate when I was pregnant and rarely eat it when not. I found it bizarre.

LeighaJ · 31/07/2018 22:27

@daphine2004

Oh gawd yeah that was my other big craving. Went from peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch to triple meat and cheese sandwiches instead.

orangejuicer · 31/07/2018 22:45

Share packs of skittles and boxes of French fancies Smile

dingdongdigeridoo · 02/08/2018 20:55

I’m so disappointed. Been craving haribo starmix all week. Mouth watering when I thought about the jelly goodness. I bought some today and they’re shite! I had to put the bag in the cupboard because looking at them was making me feel ill.

I’m thinking I should have gone for fizzy instead.

CobaltRose · 02/08/2018 21:03

I might have eaten an entire tube of salt and vinegar pringles today....

And not those little poxy tubes either. The big ones Blush
