So I'm currently over due and I have developed horrible sweat rash in the crease of my inner thigh / groin area I suffered with this once before in my pregnancy and was prescribed the fucidin h cream but never used it as I was too scared as I didn't no much about the cream however I'm due to give birth very soon and feel a right mess down there :( anyone know if this is safe to use? Baby is fully formed so would there be any more risks?

@PivotPivotPIVOTTT can I ask how long you used the cream for and if it cleared the rash x

I've used hydrocortisone this pregnancy for a nasty insect bite that went round my lower leg.

Basically it does get through the placenta, but in such tiny amounts if you don't use it on vast areas of skin and for long periods of time that it hardly matters. GP said it shouldn't have been prescribed, but ob didn't care. Dermatologists also prescribe it in pregnancy if needed.

I'd say use it. Can't do much harm (anymore).

I can't remember exaclty how long but it wasn't long, I remember noticing an improvement almost straight away. I'd suffered for about 3 weeks with it on my groin, inner thighs and backs of my knees before I was finally given the steroid cream and I always remember the relief I felt the next day and it just got better from there. I also took oat baths and used Aveeno from the same day as the steroid cream the relief was amazing!

It was prescribed to me by a doctor in the maternity unit so that made me feel better about using it.
