Hi everyone Just thought i would say hello. I am 18 weeks pregnant and i'm due 16th Jan with my first baby. I am doing it all alone as i split with bf about a month ago. Believe me i will be better off without him! I live in London but am originally from yorkshire. So i have had my fisrt scan a few weeks ago and had my blood tests done last week, so far so good. My next scan is in 2 weeks and i can't wait. Funny reading all about what others are going through, as i am very text book and if it says 'maybe will experience slight nose bleeds', you can gaurantee i will get them and did,lol
Anyway just wanted to come join in the gossip, i am feeling really well but find i drop off for half an hour in late afternoon. I feel my flutters in my tummy when i go to bed at night and i haven't really put on much weight yet so still not that noticable, damn!! lol
Hope to hear from you guys at some point

Hi kirstyk and welcome to mumsnet. I'm not pregnant at the moment but was this time last year. I have a ds1 who's five and a ds2 who's 8.5 months.

I'm glad you're having a good pregnancy and I hope it continues. I'm sure you'll feel very welcome here on mumsnet. But be warned, it's addictive.

highlander · 17/08/2004 21:28

I'll reinforce the MN addiction comment.

One day I realised it was 4 pm and I'd spent the ENTIRE DAY surfing through threads.

You have been warned!!

Thanks just nice to find a baby site where there is always people posting instead on just one or two every other day. Also good to see that we all seem to go through the same kinds of worry and feelings. Puts your mind at rest and makes you feel not so alone in this. Seems as soon as i have a worry i come on here and someone else has already had it and i have my answers

Welcome to Mumsnet! it is seriously addictive and most certainly the best place to be - I couldn't have seen my pregnancy through without it.

I can't believe that I have been coming here for a year already . . .

kirstyk · 19/08/2004 16:16

Thanks libb
Mosschops- lol thankgod it's not just me then there is another one called special deliveries, its on for an hour and i never not cry. Also adoption stories is a tear jerker but love it. Welcome kirstyk (and Mosschops30)
I wish I had known about this site when I was pregnant. Btw, Special Deliveries was filmed in my local maternity unit - I missed the filming of it by about a week, but a friend from my ante-natal class was asked to be in it (she declined!). I taped them all so I can say to ds2 "Look! That's the bed you were born in!"

hi kirstyk welcome to mumsnet - I found it in January and never did any work after that it is so addictive. My baby was born in July after me posting "Is this my waters breaking thread on here" (it was my waters).

It's so great and invaluable for a first timer like me, thank you Mumsnetters xxx

kirstyk · 19/08/2004 17:57
