Does anyone have any advice and experience with this? My midwife found protein in my urine this morning, checked my BP and was fine but on the other 2 occasions the first BP tests have come back with high results on the machine and fine BP manually. My feet are really swollen and rebooked a midwife apt for next week to Check the BP just really nervous now and expecting the worst

It happened to me with DC1: hot weather, swollen feet, hands and face, BP high then ok, reduced movements, a little protein in urine. I was referred to the consultant clinic and had an appointment at 39+2, which sounded pointless. At the appointment my BP had finally gone sky high and there was protein again, so I was taken straight into labour ward from clinic and induced four hours later once they'd stabilised my blood pressure. That was three years ago today.

It is worrying but they are keeping tabs on you which is good. They've probably already told you this but any reduced movements, headaches, vision problems then get in touch straightaway for a check.

I have had spots in vision but not today but was recently should I call them to tell me or just wait till it happens again

Its so difficult to tell between a normal pregnancy symptom and what’s a cause for concern.
I have big ol swollen ankles right now. They came on yesterday (aka hottest day on the planet) and haven’t really subsided since.
Since about week 15 I’ve not been able to wear my rings as fingers have been swollen. Even before pregnancy, they’d swell in hot weather and my mw has never been concerned.

I’m just drinking loads of water today and hoping once I get home from work I can elevate enough that they go down.

I’ve also had instances of high bp (32 weeks doctors appointment was 144/93) but then on second/third attempts its gone down, and recent follow up appointments have been lower (on Tuesday this week it was 126/76) so trying not to think too much into it.

There’s no harm in calling the maternity unit if you’re really worried? Although from my experience if you call they usually ask you to go in, just to be on the safe side so guess you'd need to be ready to go later on....

If you're very worried then I'd call and talk to a midwife - feeling anxious isn't going to help your blood pressure. Otherwise, assuming you haven't had the spots since your last check, I'd be tempted to wait for the appointment this week but call triage if it happens again before the appointment.

Pregnancy is so frustrating because there are so many symptoms which could be something or nothing. At the end of the day, if you're worried then call Flowers

I had pre eclampsia with no symptoms. Tested positive for protein in urine, blood pressure fine etc it wasn't until the following day when I had blood tests done that it was confirmed. BP was fine all day until diagnosis and then all my symptoms hit at once BP rocketed and my face and legs blew up. They think it was the shock that brought the symptoms on. I then went on to develop HELLP syndrome it was a scary time but luckily all ended up fine I was induced there and then with a few complications but it all turned out well in the end.

Call them now and ask to be seen as it can progress rapidly like what happened to me we were very lucky it was caught when it was. I always comment on these threads and feel bad as I would hate to worry anyone unnecessarily but I'm proof that symptoms and blood pressure don't mean anything, everyone at the maternity unit was shocked when it turned out I did have it. My case was rare but i would hate for the same to happen to someone else. I hope you're ok.

How many weeks are you?

I had severe swelling for about two weeks before diagnosed and it escalated very quickly after that. If you get a headache or just feel something isn’t right then get checked out. I had emcs in the end and baby was early but perfectly healthy.

Good luck

Fingers crossed next week there will be no protein and the swelling is just from the heat.
