Hi all not sure if I'm posting in the right place here but I was hoping to get people's experiences on applying for maternity allowance? I want to send my application off today but i don't have any pay slips ConfusedCan anybody tell me if they will accept bank statements as proof of my income? Tried ring in the helpline last night but I was on hold for so long I gave up!!! Thank you all in advance Smile

I’m pretty sure it has to be pay slips. If you have lost them they will accept a letter from payroll stating your payments. I enquired as mine were in storage, in the end it was easier to get the payslips out!

Thanks for your reply. The thing is my work are a bit useless at sorting things out and it's already taken 7 weeks to get back my MATB1 and SMP1 posted back after constant nagging. I'm already 33 weeks now and I can't afford the time it's going to take them to send me copies of my pay slips Sad. It's so stressful

Hey it doesn't thats to be consecutive weeks if you've been there a while and if your wage fluctuates its best to pick the weeks you were paid the most.

Hope this helps

When I applied in July I was told it had to be pay slips, maybe give them a call they are really helpful over the phone

I've gone through all my bank statements for my test period and picked out the best ones but i just don't have the pay slips for them I was hoping I could send the bank statements in as proof!

It definitely has to be payslips. My work was messing me around too, I was trying to get my SMP1 and payslips for months! I ended up just going through head office and payroll to get them, so if that’s an option for you definitely do that asap!
I don’t know how these people still have a job if they can’t even do one simple thing Angry I was without money for over a month because they couldn’t be arsed!
