I thought I knew exactly where they were. We've just moved. There's not much left to unpack and they aren't anywhere that I thought they should be.

My midwife wrote me a temporary page because I said I had only misplaced them.
They do have back up copies of stuff don't they? Is she going to go mad?!

How pregnant are you?

No they won't go mad, but they will probably laugh at you.

They are probably in your car you know. I used to lose mine all the time and find them under the seat.

You will stumble across them 2 days after the baby is born, I bet!

They must have backups surely? I don't know about yours but mine had a big notice on saying if they were lost to please return them to the hospital. So if they aren't under the sofa then perhaps some kind soul will post them to your hospital?

I'm 20 or so weeks. It had all my blood results etc in and my scan picture - typical!! (was only the 12 week one so was a pants pic anyway!)

For some reason I have a vague memory of a thread on here from yonks ago saying that a midwife had gone mad at someone for losing their notes!

I just know they are here somewhere

They have the bloods and stuff on computer I think - at least they do at my hospital. I don't know whether they record all the stuff the midwives write down like blood pressure and bump measurements, but if you're only 20 weeks that's not so vital probably.

Phew. Hopefully! I was scared!!

My midwife told me she's only had 2 women loose their notes. Both were found in pubs and handed back to the surgery!

Ah don't worry. They will turn up once you've got a new set.

OrmIrian · 31/05/2007 14:33

I did that. But it wasn't a problem. Midwife didn't bat any eyelid.

Hospital lost my notes when I went in to be induced with DD, they found them at lunchtime the next day, shame she'd been born at 8.30 that morning! I've also lost her Redbook.
Funnily enough went to consultants clinic at my local surgery last week & you've guessed it they had no notes - is it me
