Seriously, all I can do at the moment is sit on the sofa in my (substantial) underwear, occasionally waddling through to the kitchen for snacks like some kind of fucking massive lethargic elephant seal 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

The op made me laugh
Good luck everyone on getting to the other side

CharXo · 27/07/2018 03:05

3am, fan on flat out and I’m wide awake boiling!!! I just CANT WAIT for today’s temperature to get to 36 degrees. Urghhhhhhhhh

HardyforTom · 27/07/2018 03:15

This made me Lol, OP! I had my baby 2 weeks ago and I was so ready! It's too fucking hot to be tubbing around a massive belly full of baby and water!

piggie88 · 27/07/2018 03:39

This made me laugh while I’m wide awake for yet another night with heartburn, needing to pee every five minutes and sweating even though I’ve got the fan on full!
Husband is just laying there asleep no problem which just annoys me even more and I also have a toddler who has decided that all she wants to do during the whole day is just sit on my lap!

AltheaorDonna · 27/07/2018 04:00

Ok so I'm in cold wintry Australia wishing I'd gone back to the UK this summer, but I do sympathise with you pregnant ladies a lot! It must be shit having no aircon, and UK heat is humid and horrible. I just wanted to give a heads up to the people using Dyson fans. They are shit! My cheapo $11 fan from Kmart is better than the Dyson I had, honestly just because they are expensive doesn't mean they are any good. And I guess you all know the trick of putting a bowl of ice in front of your fan? Or putting a damp iced tea towel in front of it? I moved to Oz in 42 degree heat, for the first few months I used to put a damp sheet in the freezer and then sleep under it with a hot water bottle full of ice as we had no air con then. I used to also go and hang out in air conditioned shopping centres a lot, or go to the pool. Anyway, hope you can all bear up!

BlueBug45 · 27/07/2018 04:44

FFS there has been no rain Angry. Why promise rain when there is none?

I'm now wide awake after passing out for 4 hours.

WhirlingTurkey · 27/07/2018 07:02

I'm currently living on a building site. It was VERY windy here yesterday, which on the face of it, sounds lovely (a breeze!!). Except there was basically a sandstorm, due to all the dry building site dust everywhere. I went outside and had to cover my eyes, it was pretty bad. So I had the choice of shutting windows and doors and cooking alive (new build, so I'm not exaggerating there), or letting the sand / dust blow into the house. I went for the second option and my whole house is now covered in a fine layer of brown dust. It's everywhere. The floor feels gritty underfoot. I'm SO not in the mood for this.

Hjkillas · 27/07/2018 09:33

It's foul!! I'm enjoying the cool air coming in my window before it turns into 'cling film round your face when trying to breathe air'

I just wanna have this baby so she can lie there happy in a nappy and I can jump in an ice bath.
😫😫😫

WinterBabyIsComing · 27/07/2018 11:06

Yes to the PP about the constant 'how are you doing?' 'It must be awful' gaaaah

claire7930 · 27/07/2018 12:04

Some billy bullshitter forecast rain all last night here - we didn't get a drop. Twat.

34+2 here & enjoying some underwear free time before my DH & stepson get home about 5pm.

It's 30 degrees in the shade here & I'm trying to work with an overheating laptop resting on my knees as I can't sit comfortably anywhere else due to SPD & trying to keep my watermelon feet up in the air. There's no shade in the garden. It's all just fucked.

FedUpEffedOff · 27/07/2018 12:15

I too was trying to remain good humoured about the weather, especially since I look forward to summer sun all year round. However, I'm 33+5 and have had to phone in sick today - just can't manage any longer in London conditions. Sat on the (leather) sofa last night, legs akimbo, in the nude, with two fans on me and ice packs on my swollen feet and ankles - just blubbing to myself and my DH like a pathetic fat lump.

dingdongdigeridoo · 27/07/2018 12:20

I’m in the same boat as you Claire, trying to work on a laptop is awful. It’s like having a hot water bottle on your knees. And with SPD there are no comfortable positions to sit in!

skiclothes · 27/07/2018 12:30

35+6 working in a building that is half glass with no air con.
I haven't had ankles since about week 32 and I've forgotten what its like to be cold.

ResurrectedGoldfish · 27/07/2018 13:26

We were promised rain last night too. What did we get? A pathetic little dribble, and a few half-hearted splodges, then it sodded off into the North Sea, where it's no fucking use to anyone. Angry Angry Angry

I feel your anger, I went to my local supermarket, it's only a 3 minute walk each way but I wanted to die.
I'm sweating from places I didn't even know you could sweat from.
We should all do a rain dance 😂

ResurrectedGoldfish · 27/07/2018 13:54

@Hjkillas Oh God, am just about to brave Tescos. Which I suppose will involve having to put actual proper clothes on for the first time in 3 days.

@ResurrectedGoldfish

Haha!
It's heaven in there with the Aircon, it's when you get back outside 😤😤

ResurrectedGoldfish · 27/07/2018 14:01

I might go there and just camp out in the frozen section until Autumn.

38 weeks and I don't think I can cope any more. Also have a 1 year old to entertain so it's a barrel of laughs right here.

loopdeelou · 27/07/2018 15:03

I was about to start a new thread to talk about the obscene amount I am sweating but then looked here to see it's not just me @Hjkillas! 😂. I too am sweating from places I didn't know existed!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 27/07/2018 17:20

It's RAINING ☔️

ninecoronas · 27/07/2018 17:25

Not raining here but hideously close, so the migraines are back again Sad

Just saw next door's little lad hop over the fence to collect his football. I hope this isn't going to be a regular occurance or he stands a high chance of being scarred for life by a glimpse of my naked, whale-like form slumped sweatily on the sofa...

ResurrectedGoldfish · 27/07/2018 18:08

Just saw this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3317997-To-think-its-not-hot-at-all

@ninecoronas you are helping to ensure he always uses birth control when he's older.

It rained! Stopped. Then rained some more. Grin
