Suddenly enlarging and shrinking veins - anyone else?

I've noticed recently that my veins (in arms and hands) will swell - very quickly and look very big for no reason.

They'll also retreat really quickly too.

I have had a lot of blood tests this month and some of my veins are a bit bruised/ unhappy.

Is this just a sign of that? Or should I flag with midwife?

I haven't had bruising but my veins are huge, very blue and sometimes very prominent and bulging. Hands and arms are the worst as there is less fat there. Elevating them makes them go down.

I think it's just a combination of increased blood flow due to pregnancy and the heat making them dilate and expand. Obviously ask your midwife if you're concerned though.

Thanks. It just seemed odd! I think they're swelling in the heat. But doing a runner when they think they may be stabbed!
