Watery discharge tmi

On Sat I lost my mucus plug
Since then I have been "leaking" quite a bit of watery liquid.
It comes out in small gushes (much like AF)
Did a pooling test at home to see if it was my water breaking. Still leaking.
Went into triage and had speculum, they said it's not my waters and it's just normal discharge.
Since then I am still leaking a lot of liquid (clear watery with no smell) particularly at night, everytime I move I have to change my pantyliner. Roughly every 30 mins

I had a mw appt on Tues and the baby's measurements have dropped so I have to have a scan tomorrow to check everything is ok. Told her about the leaking and she said its normal.

I also noticed that the bump has gone a bit saggy all of a sudden.

Has anyone else had this sort of thing?
I'm 40+3 and panicking.
Not much point calling triage as movements are fine and the earliest day the scan could be done was Friday.

Also they really hurt me with the speculum time so reluctant to have that again! It shot out and caught me making me bleed. Was very painful.

Can anyone offer any kind of support or words of comfort to calm me down please?

First baby and terrified of the whole process.

I had this - I was convinced my waters were going and like you was told it’s normal. When my waters actually went I really knew about it. Saggy bump I don’t know about though, could be baby moving position, but mention your concerns at the scan tomorrow - they can check the amount of water in your uterus (and may do anyway as a matter of course, they did at my growth scans).

My baby’s measurements dropped at 40 weeks so I had a growth scan, which did show tailed growth. This meant I had to be induced, but not as an emergency. The first available induction was 4 days later so I had to have daily monitoring in between. Tailed growth, I think, would indicate a need for an induction and increased monitoring in the meantime but does not necessarily mean there’s anything actually wrong. In fact, although I took the advice to be induced, my research suggested growth scans can be very inaccurate.

So even if your baby’s measurements are down at the scan (and they might not be, assuming it’s the fundal height the midwife measured), please don’t worry.

Most important thing is you’ve been checked out and the medical professionals are looking into it.

Good luck!

Thank you! Yes was the fundal height they measured. It dropped at 36 weeks too and had a scan but was all ok so at least they have something to compare to aswell.
Doesn't help that when I speak to mum about it she panics saying that the measurements drop and the saggy bump is because baby isnt in water. (I was born at 32 weeks so she never went full term and is using dr google to try to comfort me. Makes me worse!)

I will definitely mention it to them tomorrow at the scan. Just working myself up into a frenzy.
The heat isn't helping either!!

The mw said it's just lubrication to help baby come out....at this rate he will have his own slip and slide! Hope they have a good catcher ready! Lol

I will try to just ignore the leaking and see what happens tomorrow.

Thank you. You have put my mind at ease SmileFlowers

I’m a first time mother to an 8 week old so I remember the anxiety well. Please don’t worry, I know it’s an intense time, but it will all be worth it when you have your baby!

Also, and I’m not a doctor, but I think even once your waters break they give you 24 hours to go into labour naturally before inducing you, which suggests that even if your waters have gone (and they probably haven’t if the midwife checked), waiting till tomorrow to find out isn’t a total disaster.

Let me know how you get on Smile
