I’m almost 9 weeks pregnant with my first and while I feel amazingly lucky and happy, I have to say the morning sickness, wind and tiredness are not the most fun I’ve ever had! Grin I’ve had the euphoria of the early scan and the heartbeat but I was wondering if you ladies could share other good parts of being pregnant? I want something to look forward to!

The first proper kick .... the buying stuff ... the all you can eat bit! :-) I miss being pregnant - can you tell?! Ha x

Creatureofthenight · 25/07/2018 20:11

I loved feeling the baby kicking and moving around.
I’m a bit plump so I liked that when my bump got to a certain size I could wear more fitted clothes without worrying about my rolls!

anxiousannie111 · 25/07/2018 20:17

Feeling baby kick it's like your own secret club I would sit and watch for ages I miss it so much now....I miss it that much that I am pregnant again with my second and my baby is only 5 months old xx

bourbonbiccy · 25/07/2018 20:44

I loved feeling him move around, he got his own little routine when the party in my belly would start ....I miss it. I see pregnant ladies now and think they are lucky. I only ever wanted one so I'm happy with my lot, but loved being pregnant

Eeeeek2 · 25/07/2018 20:47

Baby moving around and the baby at the end of it.

Don't be downhearted if you don't love being pregnant I sure as hell don't like it it's not all fun and games but it's worth it in the end.

Pebblespony · 25/07/2018 20:49

Didn't have to do some particularly crappy parts of my job due to health and safety. DH cleaned out the cat box.

Smurfybubbles · 25/07/2018 20:49

I loved when baby got hiccups, very cute unless it was 2am and he was in a funny position making me feel like a had a weird pulse in my bum Grin

spugzbunny · 25/07/2018 20:52

I loved being pregnant. I was massive, terrible heartburn, spd etc but I loved that it was always me and my little buddy in my tummy together. Feeling her move and seeing her grow was just amazing.

DrWhy · 25/07/2018 20:53

Yes, baby hiccups and kicks. Generally being made a bit of a fuss of with people asking how you are. Not caring how much weight you gain because you can write off being the size of a house down to being pregnant.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 25/07/2018 20:55

The day you find out and the day the baby is born. Sorry, but I hated most of my last pregnancy.
People are definitely nicer to you which is nice!

Pebblespony · 25/07/2018 20:59

Agreed. When it's all over and you're looking back wih that strange amnesia that makes you want another!

OneForTheRoadThen · 25/07/2018 21:05

People are nicer to you and strangers often strike up a conversation in public.

BE18mum · 25/07/2018 21:06

Didn’t like pregnancy very much so best bits were having my baby and not having to clean out the rabbits

Zoey36 · 25/07/2018 21:20

What Creatureofthenight said!
I would never wear anything tight pre-pregnancy because all my weight was on my tummy and it's nice nice being able to see fatty rolls!!! Now my tummy is so tight and nothing wobbles! I've never been more body-confident! Obviously this only applies if you're not slim to begin with! I'm actually really not looking forward to losing my bump and them being fat AND saggy!

Grumpos · 25/07/2018 21:32

Baby moving around is lovely! I know not all women like it but I love it when he shuffles around and now he’s head down i love feeling his feet pushing out my belly!
Also I enjoy wearing tight dresses as my bump has pushed out all my rolls and love handles! Although I’m bloody massive and uncomfy I think the skinny ribbed midi dresses look so cute with the big bump (could be that to everyone else I look horrendous tho!)

Also I like that people are so nice to me and I get lots of smiles and people just generally being really positive towards me.

I love being pregnant and will miss it but can’t wait to meet this little lad

Congratulations and hope you have a fab pregnancy

Grumpos · 25/07/2018 21:34

The bum hiccups was a new experience to me the other night! Very weird indeed Grin

Didsomeonesaybunny · 25/07/2018 21:40

I’ve loved every single second being pregnant, my best bits;

feeling the baby kick
crazy sex drive and amazing pregnancy sex
overcoming my eating disorder that I’ve had since I was 12
having a gorgeous bump

Flamingo84 · 25/07/2018 21:59

I love feeling the baby move around and he’s started getting hiccups which is really cute!

I love having a neat bump and it makes it fun to wear nice dresses.

I’ve always been skinny so having curves (and boobs!) has been amazing! Even if I’m only renting the boobs for a little while!

As you get bigger people generally want to make a fuss of you, strangers will chat to you and DH has been very attentive.

I’m really going to miss being pregnant which I never expected. In the first trimester I was sure I was in for 8 months of misery! But after those first few weeks it’s been lovely.

LutherRalph1 · 25/07/2018 22:07

Not having to clean litter tray

I loved not being just a bit chunky anymore, I had an amazing reason for being rotund Smile

I

Cosmoa · 25/07/2018 22:14

Having a baby at the end of it! 😂

(Not that I didn't enjoy being pregnant.)

And like pp said. Not having to clean the little tray 😂

Cosmoa · 25/07/2018 22:14

Litter*!

PurpleFlower1983 · 26/07/2018 06:38

Grin I’m getting the benefits of the litter tray avoidance already so agree on that one!

OP posts:
Lipsticktraces · 26/07/2018 08:28

Definitely not having to touch the litter tray. I get an evil thrill watching DH do itGrin

Feeling babies kick (I’m having twins) can be fascinating. They are forever kicking each other. I hope it doesn’t continue after they are born though!

I’ve not had a single stranger strike up a conversation with me though, which I would have likedSad

All in all though I can’t wait to get back to being able to drink cocktails and not being knackered by 5pm every day!
