Hello beautiful ladies,

I hope some of you may have some tips to help me!!! Coming up to 7 weeks pregnant and the dreaded sickness started last week.... but it just seems to be getting worse each day! 😭 (TMI) I'm currently sat on the toilet being sick in a bowl as well as having an upset stomach 🤢

Trying so hard to be positive and take it as good signs that I'm developing hormones and stuff.... but I've spent the last 3 days in bed crying and feeling sick as a dog!

Can't even keep water down this morning 😩🤰🏻

I'm hoping you lovely ladies may have some tips to help me get through this stage... I'm awaiting some 'C Bands' that my mum has ordered for me... apparently they are similar to travel sickness bands but are for pregnancy 🤷🏻‍♀️ Will try anything about now?

Is there any chance you could have a stomach bug on top of morning sickness?

Can you eat a few little dry biscuits.
Suck on an ice lollie or ice cubes
Just to try and keep hydrated

Looks out for signs of dehydration. If you have these then go to the docs!

I had hyperemisis with both of mine! It's horrible. In the end I had to have tablets from the doctor x

Thanks for the reply @cindersella, I just spoke to my midwife who advised the same things really.... just said to keep drinking and if I cannot keep anything down for another 24hours then to go to A+E to have some fluids put in me through a drip! 😩 Will try giving the crackers and ice lollies a go.... just can't believe how rough I feel.... as it's my first baby I don't really have anything to go by.... But I seriously take my hat off to the ladies who manage to get on with there days at work whilst feeling like this.... It just seems impossible for me at the moment 😭🤢 x

I can sympathise massively!

I used to look after older people so some of the challenges you face when you are pregnant are awful. I used to have to run out of peoples flats regular. I. The end it was getting me do n plus I was so exhausted the doctor made be have sick leave. All in all I think I had around 3 months with reviews from my GP.

In one day I remember been sick around 13 times and he told me I needed to go into hospital. I told him I could as I have another child and she was 3. Looking back now I should have gone on. But he gave me meds and told me If my sickness didn't stop within 24 hrs I was to go to the hospital.

It didn't stop but the meds helped a lot. The only thing food wise I could really tolerate was McDonald's fries.

I used to have car sickness, I would dread getting up each morning. Just rest and try to get small amounts of fluid down you. Even if it's a small medicine tot of water ever 10 mins or so x

Hope things have eased off for you through the day. That really doesn't sound like a normal level of sickness, especially awful in this heat to try and stay hydrated. Not being able to keep water down is really serious so if that is still the case I would call your GP for advice at the very least. I've had bad sickness in one pregnancy and hyperemesis in my current one, you have my deepest sympathy!

Sickness is the absolute worst thing about pregnancy... If it's any comfort I'm almost 39 weeks now and finding it a million times easier than the first trimester. Phone your gp as PP said :-) look after yourself and get help when you need it :-)

mumofmunchkin · 25/07/2018 14:34

It sounds like you're getting a rough deal with the sickness - women who keep going to work every day aren't being as sick as you are so don't compare yourself to them!

cindersrella · 27/07/2018 17:36

How you doing with the sickness OP x

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 28/07/2018 10:08

Hi ladies,

Thank you all so much for the replies... sorry I haven't written back until now! Feel a little better, I was given some sickness tablets from my GP to take... I've only taken one and it seems to have helped ALOT!! I can now keep fluids and small amounts of food down 🙌🏻 Never been keen on the idea of taking medication when pregnant but I'm only going to take them when I really need to 🤞🏻

Thanks again all 😘👌🏻
